TiGames continues its animalistic antics with the latest gameplay trailer for Zoopunk, the third-person action game coming to PC and consoles in 2027.
If the anthropomorphic characters featured in the modern Xbox Partner Showcase trailer seem at all familiar, it’s because it’s being developed as a prequel to the team’s previous game, FIST: Forged In Shadow Torch. However, Zoopunk will go in a slightly different direction, and its footage presents a solid dose of gameplay footage, featuring a character searching for a mysterious object known as Iskra.
Zoopunk takes place decades before FIST, giving fans the chance to relive moments from the history of the animal punk world. As players explore a universe that will no doubt be enriched by the events of Zoopunk, players will also encounter modern furry and scaly characters, each with their own abilities to utilize.
For example, Braton the Rhinoceros is described as a brawler who uses a flaming sword to fight, while Rayton the Rabbit focuses on hand-to-hand combat with quick strikes. There’s also Trixie the squirrel, another playable character who can utilize acrobatics to get in and out of fights in the blink of an eye.
“Set decades before the events of FIST,” reads TiGames’ plot description, “ZOOPUNK expands on the beloved Animal Punk universe by chronicling the turbulent origins of Torch City, an animal metropolis on the brink of revolution. Fans familiar with FIST will recognize some familiar yet new details, offering both nostalgia and discovery as they explore this exciting new story.”
Zoopunk brings sci-fi animal fighting to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S in 2027. You can see all the other highlights from today’s Xbox Partner Preview by checking out our full announcement coverage here.
