The Welcome Center has become an significant part of the PS5 experience, offering customizable widgets that allow you to quickly display information that’s significant to you.

In the latest update, a recently used version section was added, providing details on the number of sessions running and overall time spent playing. There are also widgets for your wishlist, friends, trophies and more.

Additionally, Sony has enriched this section with animated backgrounds inspired by popular first-party games such as Stellar Blade and Ghost of Yotei. Recently added seasonal animations that change depending on the season.

And now for a recent beta test spotted by a YouTuber Mysticthe company is playing with recent improvements.

The first is a type of standby mode that turns off all widgets and displays an animated background like a screensaver when you’re not in standby mode. Mystic notes that while this feature is chilly, the screensaver will only load when you click on the Welcome Center, making its usability slightly less effective.

The second addition is a slideshow-style background that you can grab from your favorite screenshots. You can adjust the animation of the wipes and the image rotation speed.

So some intriguing recent additions that will likely be rolled out widely in the near future, hopefully with a bit more refinement. What do you think about these changes and are you satisfied with them? Let us know below.
