It’s happening – the brilliant Silent Hill 2 remake is finally coming to Xbox Series X/S, and it’s being released with a massive 50% launch discount.
Fans noticed that the game can now be purchased on the website Xbox Store Australiawhere it is already Friday, November 21. Store pages for the game in other regions are also available, although the game is not yet available for purchase elsewhere.
When the game will be available – probably in the evening after midnight – it looks like the game has been released at half price. The Australian version has an RRP of AU$99, currently reduced to AU$50, which is something at least after the long wait.
For now, publisher Konami has not yet announced an official launch, although we are just hours away from Microsoft’s upcoming presentation on the Xbox Partner Preview platform, during which the console maker is expected to detail a number of modern third-party announcements. You can hear it later today, Thursday November 20, from 10am Pacific, 1pm Eastern or 6pm UK.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is available from October 2024 on PC and PlayStation 5, although its final release on Xbox Series X/S has long been expected. Last month, a modern version of the game appeared on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) for Xbox, which suggests that it’s almost time – and here we are.
The Silent Hill 2 remake has sold 2.5 million copies worldwidewhich resulted in sales of the entire series exceeding 10 million. IGN Silent Hill 2 remake review returned 8/10. We said: “Silent Hill 2 is a great way to visit – or re-visit – one of the scariest places in the history of survival horror.”
