The TV adaptation of the classic PlayStation series Twisted Metal has been renewed for a third season by Peacock, Diversity reports. The network also reports that David Reed will join as showrunner, replacing Michael Jonathon Smith.

Variety says Reed will join as showrunner and executive producer for the third season of Twisted Metal as part of a deal with Sony Pictures Television. Previously, Reed was a writer on the series Boys, Star Trek: Strange New WorldsAND Mages.

Although we didn’t get around to reviewing the second season, it did well enough to get the green delicate for a third series of episodes. In our review of the first season, we said that “the show works – depending on your preference for cheesy, gratuitous grindhouse brutality. It’s a silly, ostentatious bit of car crash TV – but despite a thin plot and an unsatisfying ending, we overall liked it.”
