EA and Battlefield Studios have released patch notes for update 1.1.1.5 Battlefield 6 AND REDSECintroducing various changes to improve the quality of weapons and vehicles, and finally fixing the Sledgehammer Recon drone glitch.
The team behind last month’s recent Battlefield game detailed everything coming in the recent update in its patch notes published on social media Today. Includes a full breakdown of weapon accuracy, vehicle countermeasures, and other pre-patch bug fixes for Battlefield 6 and REDSEC tomorrow, November 11 at 1:00 a.m. PT / 4:00 a.m. ET.
At the top of the list of changes is a fix for one of the most notorious bugs to appear since Battlefield 6’s launch: the drone glitch. For the uninitiated, players have figured out that standing on top of a warm XFGM-6D reconnaissance drone and hitting it with a hammer causes the device to fly upwards. It started out as a silly activity for those looking to add a dash of comedy to their matches, but quickly turned into an annoying exploit when players eventually learned it could be used to reach otherwise inaccessible vantage points.
The sledgehammer drone glitch in Battlefield 6 will finally be resolved tomorrow, but that’s not the only change coming. Update 1.1.1.5 will also introduce several improvements to the operation of vehicles. Both ground and air vehicle users will be content to know that a bug affecting the apply of countermeasures such as flares has been fixed, which should result in more reliable protection against locked-in guided missiles. An issue with vehicles not spawning correctly in Breakthrough and Conquest will also be fixed in tomorrow’s update.
In addition to general improvements to Battle Royal gameplay, progression, audio, and UI, infantry will notice less spread when aiming after running. This, as well as other improvements related to player movement and shooting, should make players feel more precise when on the move.
Battlefield 6 was released on October 10 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. We’ve had a flurry of updates since then, and EA and BF Studios continue their efforts to keep up with fan feedback with regular seasonal drops. The latest highlights include: a progress review that has reduced requirements for many of the more hard challengesbut also subdued colors for one of the most controversial skins in Battlefield history.
While we wait to see how the Battlefield 6 and REDSEC community reacts to the 1.1.1.5 update, you can read about how some dedicated fans tackled almost 15 years of multiplayer maps AND why another group of players started creating their own Portal Conquest maps.
