Pokémon Legends: ZA Mega Dimension DLC trailer reveals release date

Published:

Nintendo has revealed modern details about the upcoming Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends: ZA, which features two modern Pikachu Raichu evolution variants.

Today’s trailer specifically confirms Mega Dimension’s release date: December 10. We got our first look at more of the modern Mega Evolutions that will be coming to Pokémon Legends: ZA as part of the DLC: Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur.

In Mega Dimension, players enter Hyperspace Lumiose using Pokémon Hoopa’s dimensional portal. “At first glance, Hyperspace Lumiose may look like the real Lumiose, but it’s a completely different place,” reveals the trailer’s description. And indeed, this version of the city has a substantial difference – here Pokémon can be temporarily buffed beyond the normal level cap of 100.

With the assist of modern character Ansha, the donut chef, players can feed their Pokémon mystical sweet treats that exceed the level of their creatures within the mysterious confines of Hyperspace Lumiose. Pokémon X and Y gym leader Korrina will also appear as an ally.

The trailer states that Mega Baxcalibur’s unlockable Mega Stone will be distributed in Season 4 of the game’s online ranked battles, following the similar release of Mega Stones for Mega Greninja, Mega Delphox, and Mega Chesnaught.

There is also an additional side mission available in Pokémon Legends ZA that will provide a Mega Stone for the mythical creature Diancie. “Shine Bright like a Gemstone” will be available today to all owners of the game, regardless of whether you purchased the DLC or received the Rihanna reference.

Nintendo announced Mega Dimension back in September, when fans raised eyebrows at its early confirmation and $30 price tag. As many have noted, purchasing the DLC and base game on Switch 2 means paying a total of $100.

This morning, Pokémon Legends: ZA received its first post-release patch, which introduces changes to Ranked Battles and fixes a number of bugs.
