Battlefield 6 is getting a “major” challenge and assignment overhaul, including a “significant” reduction in challenge requirements

Published:

Battlefield 6 developer BF Studios has announced a “major” overhaul of Challenges and Assignments, with “significant” changes across the board.

BF Studios has stated that these changes, described in the patch notes below, are based on recent updates that increased the amount of XP earned in official matches and reduced the amount of XP required to complete the first 20 expansion ranks.

“This update significantly reduces challenge requirements by reducing time investment while focusing on skill-based progression that rewards consistent play,” BF Studios explained. “Challenges and tasks are aligned to specific playtime goals, and these changes align their requirements with those goals, making them more achievable within a reasonable session length.”

BF Studios continued: “Quests will continue to include goals that can be achieved through regular gameplay, or a few that reward true mastery, particularly those related to cosmetic items. Some of the original criteria did not fully reflect this intention, so we have updated them to make their difficulty and purpose clearer.”

The first set of changes was rolled out today, November 5, via a server-side update and is available immediately. Any progress you have already made will be automatically applied when you enter the match, unlocking any challenges and tasks you now complete based on the updated criteria.

BF Studios said the scale of its plans for Challenges and Quests is “large and will be implemented across multiple server and client-side updates,” so players can expect additional updates in the future.

While Battlefield 6 had a record-breaking launch, some have criticized the pace of game progression that this update aims to address. Other scorching topics include the size of Battlefield 6’s multiplayer maps compared to maps from previous games and soldier skins that don’t fit the space.

Community Update – Patch notes regarding changes to challenges and assignments:

In the first set of changes, we made a total of over 90 changes to challenges and tasks. We’ve highlighted some examples below.

Class challenges

Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon challenges are now completed much faster.

  • Attack 2: Have team members deploy on the respawn signal.
  • Number of deployments reduced from 50 to 5.
  • Support 2: Revive teammates as support.
  • Number of revivals reduced from 200 to 60.

Weapon assignments

All weapon type allocations (AR, SMG, LMG, Shotguns, DMR, Snipers, Carbines) have been significantly simplified.

  • Rapid Fire Rifle 1/Assault Rifle: Deal damage with assault rifles.
  • Reduced from requiring 10000 damage dealt to 3000.

Mode and unit assignments

Most of our mode-specific tasks (Conquest, Onslaught, Breakthrough, Domination, and others) have been standardized to require two wins per level. This change makes it easier to take on these challenges with clear intentions.

  • Conquest 2: He is victorious in Conquest.
  • Reduced from 5 wins to 2.
  • Conquest 3: Accurate kills in the Conquest round.
  • Objective kills per round reduced from 30 to 10.

Gameplay and mastery

The general “Expert” and “Master” quests, which require multiple kills, headshots, killstreaks, or resurrections, have been adjusted to better fit the natural gameplay rhythm. For example, multi-kill and burst goals are now tied to average round performance rather than uncommon outliers.

  • Explosives Expert 2: Get multiple kills (2+ kills and beyond) with explosives.
  • Reduced from 20 multiple kills to 5.
  • Customizable 2: Repair damaged vehicles in life.
  • Reduced from requiring 3000 damage to 500.
