Ahead of this weekend’s Galaxies Gaming Showcase, Fumi Games and PlaySide Studios have tempered expectations regarding the release date of Mouse: PI For Hire, a first-person shooter inspired by 1930s cartoons. A while ago, the studio announced that the game’s release date would be announced this weekend, but that has now changed as Mouse: PI For Hire will no longer release in 2025, but instead in early 2026.

In a statement, Fumi Games and PlaySide Studios said: “Hello everyone. We know you’re excited to announce the release date of Mouse: PI For Hire at the Galaxies Gaming Showcase this week on October 23. Ahead of this announcement, we wanted to let you know that we’ve made the decision to push back the release of Mouse: PI For Hire from 2025 to early 2026. The support you’ve shown over the years has meant the world to us. Our Our top priority is for the game to provide you with the best experience possible, and this will lend a hand us ensure we can achieve that goal. Thank you for everything and see you in Galaxies!”

In Mouse: PI For Hire you play as private detective Jack Pepper, voiced by Troy Baker, in a noir-inspired first-person shooter inspired by 1930s animation. The action takes place in the town of Mouseburg, and Jack is initially hired to lend a hand a “damsel in distress”. However, things take a different turn as the case delves deeper into the criminal and corrupt world that lies beneath the city’s surface. There will be many areas to explore, including city streets, canals, a casino, a movie studio and the docks. In all of these locations you will find loot and collectibles, as well as clues that will lend a hand Jack solve the case.

Mouse: PI For Hire will be released on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series XS and Xbox One.
