FromSoftware has made the decision to push the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring to 2026, with the knock-on effect of additional items included in the novel Tarnished Edition also being pushed to PS5 and PS4.
The updated version includes two novel starting classes (Knight of Ides and Heavy Knight), additional armor sets, and additional customization options for the mount, Torrent. These items and features will be offered to PS5 and PS4 owners in the Tarnished Pack on the same day as the Switch 2 version is released, but will now have to wait until next year for them.
It is unknown whether this DLC will be a free add-on or a paid add-on.
In statement on social mediathe developer stated that it needed more time to make “game performance adjustments.” Earlier this year, it was documented how poorly Elden Ring performed on the Switch 2 – especially in handheld mode.
