A sequel to Brian De Palma’s 2006 video game A face with a scar – which tells the story of Tony Montana’s death at the climax of the 1983 film – will be re-released on Steam and the Epic Games Store. In fact, Hong Kong-based publisher EC Digital Entertainment has already released and quickly removed the EGS release Scarface: The world is yours on Wednesday after going live seemingly earlier than planned. That’s not the only weird thing about the return of the Scarface video game.

We have recently entered into urgent discussions with multiple parties regarding the status of the project. After careful consideration, we believe that temporarily hiding the store page is the most appropriate step forward, and we have already begun working with Valve to achieve this soon.
The current website was initially intended as a placeholder while we work on ongoing licensing and technical issues. Unfortunately, the inadvertent release of some builds to other platforms has caused unexpected complications and concerns. For this reason, we believe a pause and reassessment is necessary.
We would like to apologize to the community for any confusion and anxiety this situation may have caused. If something changes and we are able to restore the project in the future, we will let you know immediately.
It was completely our responsibility. We also kindly ask that no one harass or share personal information with anyone involved in the project – especially anyone unrelated to this project. Some of our partners working on completely separate games have already been negatively impacted, and we deeply regret putting them in this position.
