Konami revealed 3 recent Silent Hill games at once, so fans knew they were “serious” about reviving the horror series

Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto shared more about why Konami revealed three recent Silent Hill games after a full decade of silence, saying the publisher wanted to emphasize to fans senior and recent that it’s “serious” about reviving the failing horror franchise.

We reflect on how the series has performed since the days of Konami inaugural Silent Hill broadcast in October 2022Okamoto explained what an impression Silent Hill 2 remake was designed with “half new, half old customers” in mind to ensure recent fans were attracted to the series.

“Three years ago, in 2022, we announced three titles: Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill and Silent Hill: Townfall,” Okamoto explained in Twitter / Xas transcribed Machine. “We didn’t want to just announce one remake to ‘test the waters.’

“We wanted people to feel how serious we are about reviving the series. Creating a remake and a new title at the same time naturally carries risks, but we wanted to express our commitment above all. Only when a new game is announced will the future of the series be known. Users will not feel motivated to engage with the intellectual property if they do not feel it has a future. If the company takes a wait-and-see approach, and so will the players. The company needs to show how serious it is so that users can get really excited. I think it’s just fair.”

Of all the projects revealed since the 2022 show – Silent Hill: A short messageSilent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill f, Silent Hill:Townfalland media projects Silent Hill: Ascension and upcoming movie, Return to Silent Hill — most were well received by critics, fans and new players alike, suggesting it was a risk worth taking for the Japanese publisher.
