The Crew 2 Hybrid update introduces an offline mode to racing

Published:

Last year, Ubisoft confirmed that both The Crew Motorfest and The Crew 2 would be getting offline modes, and now this has become a reality for The Crew 2. Ubisoft has released a hybrid mode update for The Crew 2 that allows players to continue playing online or play The Crew 2 offline. If you have an Internet connection, you can play online or offline, but if you do not have an Internet connection, The Crew 2 will automatically start in offline mode.

However, it should be noted that online and offline saving are separate issues. Although online data can be exported offline, data saved offline cannot be exported online. Additionally, any data saved online that is moved offline will overwrite any data saved offline. This means that any offline progress that does not match your online progress will be lost. As for rewards and DLC, they must be claimed online and then exported to an offline save to be used there. Your Crew Credits balance is included in your offline data so you can purchase cars offline, but any items or packages exclusive to the Crew Credits online store cannot be purchased offline. Ubisoft has listed what is not available offline:

  • Purchases with Crew Credits (vehicle packs, cosmetic items) and the Far & Beyond store in all 4 centers.
  • LIVE Summits.
  • All multiplayer content including PvP, crews, crew features, feeds, leaderboards, ghosts and stats menu. Only your best times will be recorded in each race.
  • UGC features including Race Creator and Livery Editor. Custom liveries will not be transferred to offline saves.
  • Certain hobbies and achievements (Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Ubisoft Connect) that require online-only activities.

There are no details yet on when The Crew Motorfest will receive a hybrid mode with the possibility of adding an offline mode.
