Will Lana Del Rey take over for Billie Eilish on the ‘007 First Light’ theme song?

Of all the stimulating news that may emerge 007 First delicate in recent weeks, one element still eludes all of us: will we receive… 007 First Light theme song? Every major James Bond adventure has a rousing musical score to accompany his spy tales, with Adele and Billie Eilish contributing to Daniel Craig’s on-screen presence. But who will take up vocals next? This fresh registration of Lana Del Rey with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers may be our answer.

Even in game form, James Bond still needs a great melody to set the mood. Joss Stone’s brilliant, underrated theme “I’ll Take It All” sets James Bond 007: Bloodstone into motion as soon as the string section begins. Esthero’s “almost civilized” is just one aspect of why Nightfire is iconic. In the case of 007 First Light, a falcon-shaped spot on Lana Del Rey’s subreddit from “ConversationDue8475” may indicate that the Born to Die artist is giving Patrick Gibson’s character the version he deserves.

The Redditor notes that Lana Del Rey’s recordings released by ASCAP include a currently unreleased track, known as First Light, released under the Universal Music Corporation label. Her publishing cooperation with Universal Music Publishing Group is relatively fresh, starting in January last year after leaving Sony Music Publishing. Previously, her songs were released via Polydor Records and Interscope Records.

Outside of the song featured in Lana Del Rey’s discography, information about additional performing personnel is shrouded in mystery. However, he is currently working on his tenth studio album, Stove, which is scheduled for release in January 2026. On the album, she collaborates with Bleachers frontman and Taylor Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff. Is First Light an upcoming Stove song? Or maybe this applies to the fresh Switch game from IO Interactive?

Well, when it comes to anything involving James Bond, I prefer to err on the side of caution. This isn’t the first time Lana Del Rey has crossed paths with the series. Her track 24, which was eventually included on her fourth album Honeymoon, was originally intended to appear on the soundtrack of Specter, the 24th installment of James Bond’s big-screen escapades. Asked why she hasn’t had the opportunity to sing a Bond theme in her career, Del Rey jokes to the BBC: “How has this not happened yet?”

I think Lana Del Rey is a fantastic choice for First Light’s theme song. To release this, just listen to the double whammy of 24 and Swan Song from her aforementioned album Honeymoon. Maybe we’ll hear it before the 007 First Light release date. Although you are considering pre-ordering 007 First Light, after seeing 007 First Light in person at Gamescom, I can say that it promises to be truly special.
