There is no discussion Hollow Knight: Silk Song it’s a hard game, but one of the reasons people think it’s an insurmountable challenge is the style of play. Simply put, Silk Song players may forget about all the tools available to them, or may not yet realize that certain tools can completely thwart some encounters. Some players probably tested out a few tools but felt they barely did any damage to their enemies. WITH Hollow Knight: Silk SongOctober patch, that’s changing.
In addition to expanding controller support and eliminating many bugs, ver. 1.0.28891 z Hollow Knight: Silk Song also includes this gem:
– Fixed crafting kits not increasing the offensive damage of blue tools (e.g. Sawtooth’s Ring).
I don’t know about you, but I definitely remember picking up crafting kits and scratching my head. Tool pouches would certainly significantly enhance the number of items I could carry. However, the effects of the crafting kits seemed hazy. This is an astounding fact when you consider that crafting kits exist should enhance your damage by 60 percentwhich is a number that would certainly make a noticeable difference during gameplay. At least if it worked as intended. It turns out not!
Blue tools provide passive abilities such as magma resistance and can provide more weapons to the Hornet’s arsenal. This upgrade will not affect the previous ones, they do not offer offensive options. Gear outside of the Sawtooth’s Rim that will be affected by this change includes:
-
Pollip bag
-
Claw Mirror
-
There was Filament
-
Snitch selection
-
Wispfire Lantern
Fans are delighted with these changes. Tools like the Mirror of Claws, which damages enemies with a flash, and the Pollip Pouch’s ability to poison enemies were already quite powerful. Now they are even better.
“Claw Mirrors didn’t need the boost, so HOLY FUCK,” one player shouts in a thread calling these changes “peak“
Given the content of the update, players are unsure whether the damage enhance could apply to tools that have both offensive and defensive capabilities. For example, the Guardian Bell helps protect Hornet while he heals. It also emits a petite burst of damage to enemies. It’s possible that a patch will improve this attack, but ultimately no one is equipping the Guardian Bell to improve its offensive capabilities. As a tool connoisseur, this patch gave me a reason to try again the last annoying gauntlet I was stuck with.
