Don’t miss these 8 great free demos during Steam Next Fest

Published:

It’s been a busy few months for video games. If you’re the type of person who likes to stay up to date with what’s recent, you’re probably still catching up on things you can’t hope to finish by the end of 2025. But if can be postponed Hades 2 Or Battlefield 6There are lots of great demos available that you can try right now.

Next Steam Festival is now available and will last until October 20. During this time, you will be able to find tons of demos of upcoming PC games on Steam. This includes previews of anticipated upcoming titles such as X Pit Ball and independent trivia you’ve never heard of. (My favorite demo from the last Next Fest was a Silent Hill inspired soccer game called FA 98.) This is a great way to freshen up your Steam wishlist and put some promising games on your radar. So what is worth checking? Here are some suggestions to get you started, but there are many more.

Goodnight Universe

If you don’t know about Goodnight Universe already, you will do it soon. The winner of Tribeca Fest, which begins Nov. 11, is another game from a team on the back foot In front of your eyes. This game uses a webcam to create an unforgettable experience controlled entirely by eye tracking. Goodnight Universe is an evolution of this idea, giving players control over an infant with psychic powers. As long as you have a working camera, Steam Next Fest demo will give you a taste of how you can control the world just by looking around. With that in mind, this is a particularly apt demo Goodnight Universe resembles the latest version of Nintendo Close to you compact video. (Well, before all the Pikmin were added.) There are a lot of games to try out at Next Fest, but I promise nothing else will be like it.

Sleep awake

We’re currently in the middle of the Halloween season, and if you’re looking for a good scare, Next Fest has plenty of horror games to check out. The most crucial of them is Sleep awakea mysterious recent project from publisher Blumhouse Games. The action takes place in a terrifying world where people mysteriously disappear in their sleep. You play as a character trying to force yourself to constantly fall asleep in a first-person horror game filled with surreal and nightmarish images that will leave you feeling sleep-deprived. You can also get a taste of the disturbing sound created by Nine Inch Nails’ Robin Finck.

Ambrosia Heaven

Ever since the first press demo appeared at Summer Game Fest, I’ve heard nothing but praise Ambrosia Heaven. After finally trying it out Steam Next Fest DemoI understand why. The debut game from Soft Rains is basically a mix in between Metroid Prime AND Super Mario Sunny. You are an interstellar cleaner – literally – sent to damaged spaceships that have been taken over by an alien fungus. Your task is to neat crisis zones using a science fiction washer. As you can imagine, this leads to satisfying gameplay as you destroy alien developments in amazing spaceships. The demo is a robust teaser, showcasing Ambrosia Heavengreat sense of atmosphere, stylish user interface, and even a bit of weightless movement. Don’t miss it; This will definitely be the talk of Steam Next Fest.

Lumins are created

If you haven’t tried the demo version yet Lumins are creatednow is the perfect time to get started on this before the music game’s November 11 release date. The resurrection of the PSP era puts a hypnotic twist on a cult classic puzzle courtesy of Enhance Studios The Tetris effect. But you don’t have to tell me that; this will be immediately apparent when you try the trippy demo. You’ll be able to reacquaint yourself with Lumines’ two-color block matching format, as well as admire some of its psychedelic levels. I’ve been playing the demo myself for the past few days and it has completely consumed my free time. I can’t even imagine what it will feel like in VR when it comes to PS5 with PlayStation VR2 support, but if I could, I’d drop everything and dive into the game right now.

Animal

Notably, Little Nightmares developer Tarsier Studios has not been involved in development of the recently released game Little Nightmares 3. This is because the team worked on the original design instead. Animal is a terrifyingly cute recent horror game in the same vein as the Little Nightmares series, but with a much darker tone. This can be seen in the recent Steam Next Fest demo, where you follow a pair of siblings through a disturbing world bathed in fog and dreary shades of gray. That’s almost Inside-esque in look and feel. The snippet previews a more terrifying effort from Tarsier, but one that’s still characterized by its minimalist puzzle-solving and the studio’s knack for creating creepy spaces you desperately want to escape.

God breakers

There’s no shortage of roguelike games at Next Fest, but God breakers stands out for several reasons. Thunderful Publishing’s latest game, scheduled for release on October 23, is a established hack-and-slash action game packed with upgrades that provide additional benefits that can change with each launch. His special trick, however, is that you can absorb the enemies you’re fighting and gain access to a devastating special attack. It’s almost like Kirby, but in a fast-paced action game filled with tough bosses scattered across interstellar biomes. What’s more, it can be played with up to four players, giving it real potential as a cooperative game. Try it for yourself now if you want to play around in the first few biomes and see what powers you can absorb.

Marvel’s space invasion

If you can tear yourself away from Dotemu’s latest game, Absoluteyou can also try another promising fighting game from the publisher. Marvel’s space invasion this is another project from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge developer Tribute Games and it promises to be just as fun. Inspired by Marvel arcade classics, Space invasion brings together backup heroes like Captain America with unexpected allies, including Venom. During Steam Next Fest, you can experience the game’s striking 2D fighting style and try out its unique tag system that brings a surprising touch of Marvel vs. style. Capcom for a classic fighting game.

The legend of Chiimori

Of all the demos I’ve tried so far, The legend of Chiimori is the most fascinating. In the open-world game, which will be released in early access on November 4, you will play as a courier in 13th-century Mongolia. Like many open world heroes, he travels the world on his horse. The difference is that riding this horse is the center of the game. Your four-legged friend is not just an invincible steed, but something you need to care for and take care of. You need to feed him, control his stamina and treat his injuries. The Steam Next Fest demo gives you 90 minutes to explore the world and understand how it all works. If you want to see how deep it goes, go to the menu and look at your horse’s stats to see its DNA.
