Battlefield 6 players operate the repair tool to plead for resuscitation, but medics say rescuing downed players isn’t as effortless as it seems

Medics began their own war in Battlefield 6 when desperate players began using the repair tool to leave messages asking for revival.

EA and Battlefield Studios opened the floodgates with the launch of Battlefield 6 last week on October 10 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. As over 740,000 players flocked to play on Steam alone, a modern discussion about in-game activities rose to the top with one question: Are medics doing their job?

The Support class undoubtedly plays an critical role in any multiplayer match in Battlefield 6. While the Assault, Engineer, and Recon classes also bring critical tools and skills to the fight, only the Support class can quickly get downed soldiers back on their feet.

Squad members of any class can resurrect each other with or without medical tools as support, although they are narrow to only resurrecting players in their squad and take much longer to pick them up. Support players do not have these restrictions on the team and can instantly revive a soldier using things like defibrillators.

With dozens of teammates participating in each Battlefield 6 match, there are always plenty of players looking to resurrect themselves, and since buildings often fall down around them, the chance to get them back up isn’t always very likely. Increasing the voltage at both ends is a measurement for downed players, showing how far away the nearest group of medics are. When JohnBattlefield2000 decides not to revive you from just five meters away, things tend to get heated.

Some have already started using the Repair Tool, a gadget that engineers have been using to repair vehicles (and draw on walls) in Battlefield for years, to leave messages for support medics who are neglecting their fallen comrades. One popular post by Reddit user Dobrywewski77 includes a not-so-nice request in which he asks others to “remember to revive your teammates.” The desire to get back into the fight is fair, but backers say it’s not effortless to mount a successful defense.

“Stop pressing the redeploy button and you will be revived.” one person replied in a post on X/Twitter. “I wish people would ask where the Medic is instead of skipping respawn” another comment on Reddit in addition.

Reddit user beningham94 also posted his own fix tool announcement during the weekend. Instead of calling the medics at support classes, they decided to show their team a different message.

Battlefield 6 was released just a few days ago, and it has already sparked various discussions in the community. These include an in-game pop-up informing players that the campaign can be uninstalled, as well as the creation of a Portal mode that serves as a remake of the Call of Duty Shipment map.
