  • Servant of the Lake, the upcoming mobile version of Rusty Lake, has a demo available
  • Steam Next Fest will allow fans to get their hands on the game ahead of its multi-platform launch
  • The Servant of the Lake sees that you work as the caretaker of the Vanderboom family, which is full of secrets

If there’s one creator we always love to see in the point-and-click adventure space, it’s Rusty Lake. Their series of strange, crazy and slightly disturbing adventures always captivates us. One of their most intriguing upcoming games, Servant of the Lake, is now available as a demo!

Servant of the Lake, as you might guess from the name, involves you taking on the role of a servant in a lake house. It’s quite straightforward, but it’s the only clear thing about your up-to-date job. Custody of the Vanderboom estate (a name that will be familiar to longtime Rusty Lake fans) is not unthreatening.

You will be tasked with performing seemingly straightforward and obvious everyday tasks that will quickly turn into bizarre and disturbing. It’s an intriguing premise, but unfortunately if you want to try the demo you’ll have to hop on PC as it’s part of Steam Next Fest.

Lady in the lake

As I mentioned last week on Hungry Horrors, Steam Next Fest is always a good opportunity for mobile gamers to learn more about upcoming releases. Servant of the Lake will debut in spring 2026 on mobile devices and PC, so we won’t have to wait long before it gets our hands on it.

Servant of the Lake itself seems to be probably the simplest, yet most unnerving, entry in the Rusty Lake series. With the Vanderbloom family in the spotlight and plenty of gothic thrills and chills, it will undoubtedly strain your heart as much as your mystery-solving skills.

If you’re looking for something scary this Halloween on mobile, you don’t have to wait for the release of Servant of the Lake. Instead, why not check out our list of the best mobile horror games for Android? There’s a lot of stuff in there that might scare you.
