Let’s be candid: if you’re a substantial fan of the golden retriever boyfriend archetype, you were immediately drawn to Xavier when you started the game Love and space and I never felt the need to pay attention to any of the guys who were introduced later than the tutorial.
This is an extremely justified choice, as Xavier is undoubtedly the best boy in the galaxy. He also has the distinction of being a LaDS aficionado (at least so far) whose birthday is later this year, so if you’re in the mood for celebratory 3D fun with your husbands, this is probably your last chance until 2026, unless the shadow of the elusive LI#6 falls in the next few months.
Xavier’s birthday event in 2025 is Follow the starswhich will be launched in the game October 11-18. This means you only have a little over a week to complete all the event tasks and make your wishes on these two birthday banners (one novel and one repeated from 2024). How to complete the Trace the Stars event in LaDS
To participate in Xavier’s 2025 birthday event, simply unlock him as a loved one. If you haven’t already, all you need to do is play through Chapter 1, Stage 4 of the main story – which takes very little time, as Xavier is a tutorial companion that you unlock almost as soon as you start the game.
Assuming you manage to meet these very basic criteria in time, logging into the game during Xavier’s birthday week and opening the Events tab will take you directly to Follow the stars event landing page.
Here you can see all the activities available to celebrate Xavier’s birthday. You don’t have to complete every part of the event – although some activities are prerequisites for others – but more or less everything you do will earn you a generous portion of Starward Reels, a unique, limited-edition event currency that can only be spent in the limited-time Starry Shop in celebration of Xavier’s birthday.
Like all romantic companions in LaDS, Xavier’s 2025 birthday event has a basic, standard design, but with a personalized theme to make the celebrations extra special. Here is an overview of all the event activities:
Birthday warm-up plot: A four-part side story, released one chapter per day on October 11, 13, and October 15–16. This is a unique event plot that will not be repeated in future years, with the heroine trying to learn more about Xavier’s history before his arrival on Earth, as well as taking an interest in his newfound past hobby as an enthusiastic amateur astronomer after he is stranded in Linkon City.
Whispers of the heart: With this one-time action, you can write a personalized message of up to 60 characters in a birthday card for Xavier. (You can edit this as many times as you want until his birthday on Friday.)
Inspiration collection: A mini-game in which your task is to collect falling objects (and, at higher levels, avoid unwanted ones) in order to gather inspiration for the various elements of Xavier’s birthday cake. Four tiers are unlocked every day from the start of the event until October 14. You can repeat each level an unlimited number of times to make sure you get all the ingredients you need.
Plans: Spend various pieces of inspiration collected in the mini-game to unlock blueprints, each of which provides a novel idea for Xavier’s DIY birthday cake, as well as a compact memory story that guides the heroine in choosing each aspect of the design.
Do it yourself: Finally, assemble all the elements collected in Blueprints to design a birthday cake for Xavier, combining shapes, flavors, toppers, decorations and banners as you like. You can save up to 20 daily designs of different cake designs, and the cake won’t be ready until you finish with the candle and bake it.
Finally, starting on Xavier’s actual birthday (October 17), you will receive a video call from Xavier where he will share his thoughts on celebrating his birthday with you.
Starry Shop event store details
Almost every action you take during the Trace the Stars event – as well as certain general in-game feats such as reaching your daily activity point limit and, of course, drawing his exclusive 5-star birthday memories from the gacha – will earn you Xavier’s unique birthday currency, Star roll. Navigation to Shop > Exchange > Starry Shop will give you the chance to exchange the Star Drums you earn for the following items:

If you find leftover Starward Reels at the end of the event, you can exchange any extra for 25 gold in the Starward Store, which is definitely worth doing.
Otherwise, as with other LaDS-restricted currencies, you can expect them to be automatically converted to your fixed currency once the event ends – so you won’t lose out completely if you forget to spend them all on time, although their purchasing power will likely be reduced.
Finally, don’t forget to check any mail you receive during the event 10 confined space wishes which can only be used on the novel Between Stars banner. Unfortunately, they can’t even be used to replay Xavier’s Celestial Message, as replays require regular Deepspace Wishes Or their own special flagship currency that is incompatible with Limited Deepspace Wishes.
However, if you do not employ them before the banner expires, they will be converted to regular Empyrean Wishes, which can be used on the eternal X-Space Echo banner instead. In other words, whether you intend to wish on Xavier’s novel birthday banner or not, it’s still worth picking up – and you don’t have to worry about accidentally resetting your pity if you’d rather just wait to spend it on the eternal X-Space Echo banner instead.
