Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra informs about upcoming changes in a modern developer letter

Published:

  • New letter from the developer in response to player feedback
  • Increased hero customization frequency
  • Six trial hero slots will be available soon

A few days ago, modern starting emotes were released for Super Saiyan 3 Son Goku, Majin Buu (Good), and Zamasu, and now Bandai Namco has shared a clearer picture of what’s next for Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra.

The second Developer Letter describes how the team is adapting its approach to balance and expanding player options. These are tiny but significant changes that show they pay close attention to feedback.

The biggest note is that hero customizations will happen more frequently. Originally, Gekishin Squadra planned to make balance adjustments at the beginning of each season, but after observing the initial meta (and numerous player discussions), the team decided to roll in mid-season. It’s a astute move for a MOBA game that’s still finding its groove, especially in its first season where power levels can fluctuate greatly between heroes.

Digging into the details, Super Saiyan Son Goku receives an enhance in Meteor Hammer’s cooldown and an enhance in Kaioken’s duration, although his buffs have been toned down to keep things fair. Meanwhile, Majin Buu (Good) gets some much-needed love with an HP boost and stronger attacks.

Trial Heroes are also developing. You should soon have six of them available at once, including level 1 characters. This should provide a better chance to test champions before committing. I think this is a good incentive if you are a regular player and just starting out. Plus, you have our Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra tips to support with that too!

And because Squadra loves its style, each modern champion will now spawn with matching emotes from day one, part of a wider change to how store and pod updates are implemented. It’s not a headline, but it makes the experience livelier between bigger updates.

To sum up, it is still the beginning of the first season of Gekishin Squadra and it seems that after these changes, the creators have entered a balanced rhythm. They’re not coming up with anything yet, but they’re listening and that’s often where good live games start.
