As data mining begins, fans are warning that Pokémon Legends: ZA spoiler doors have already been opened

Published:

With one week until the official release of Pokémon Legends: ZA, fans have been warned about online spoilers as detailed data from the game has begun to leak online – including news of even more novel Mega Pokémon.

Pokémon Legends ZA is scheduled to launch on October 16 for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, but there is already evidence of early copies making their way into the wild. This morning, IGN found evidence that the game is being actively analyzed for its secrets.

So far, The Pokémon Company has revealed just a handful of novel Mega Pokémon, which are expected to be the final list of fresh Mega species in the game. And while the older leak listed a number of Mega Evolutions that were yet to be confirmed, today there is evidence that even more creatures may be included than initially expected.

In response to all of this, Pokémon fans have begun to point out that anyone looking to get into Pokémon Legends: ZA without seeing spoilers should pay attention to where they click online over the next few days – or log out of social media altogether. (IGN won’t reveal any of the novel species here.)

Taking place in Kalos, home of the Mega Pokémon mechanic, Pokémon Legends: ZA adds the first novel batch of super-powered creatures to the series’ Mega Pokédex in over a decade, although no entirely novel Pokémon species are expected.

The novel Mega Evolutions include the majestic-looking Mega Dragonite – which has now also made its debut in the Pokémon anime – as well as Mega Victreebell, Mega Hawlucha, and Mega Malamar.

Upon launch, Pokémon Legends: ZA will unlock Mega Evolutions for each of the three fully evolved Starter Pokémon available in the online game: Delphox, Greninja, and Chesnaught. Plus, you can now purchase Pokémon Legends: ZA: Mega Dimension, a paid DLC that will add two novel Mega Evolutions for Raichu.

Indeed, some fans have complained about the cost of acquiring every Mega Pokémon announced so far, which requires over $100 to obtain the base game, DLC and a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

How many other novel Mega Evolutions will Pokémon Legends: ZA contain? We’ll find out soon.
