‘Once Again, F*** Off’: Fantastic Four and Assassin’s Creed star Ralph Ineson announces Ubisoft has canceled post-Civil War game that featured a former slave fighting the Ku Klux Klan

Published:

Marvel actor Ralph Ineson, who played Galactus in this year’s Fantastic Four: First Steps, addressed Ubisoft’s decision to reportedly cancel the post-Civil War game Assassin’s Creed, which stars a former black slave.

According to A Game file A report published this week states that Ubisoft walked away from the project last summer while the idea was still in the early stages of development due to concerns about the current political climate in the US and the negative reaction to Black co-hero Yasuke in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Ineson previously appeared in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag as the pirate Charles Vane, an ally of the game’s hero Edward Kenway. Black Flag also featured Adéwalé, a former black slave whose character later starred as the playable protagonist of Freedom Cry, one of the best DLCs for the Assassin’s Creed series, which was later re-released as a standalone game.

“Fuck off again” – Ineson he wrote on X, reposting details of the supposedly canceled match. (The message follows another, even more succinct recent post – “F*** off” – made by Ineson regarding the report regarding AI “actress” Tilly Norwood.)

While Ineson hasn’t worked on the Assassin’s Creed franchise for some time, it’s engaging to see the actor speak out about the franchise amid the whirlwind of expectations that a fresh version of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is in the works. Indeed, a recent report suggested that the project would include additional material, and Edward Kenway actor Matt Ryan dropped several hints that he would be involved again.

Could Ineson return to making more videos for the Black Flag remake? Or maybe, as a fan of the series, he was simply annoyed by the project’s cancellation?

Ubisoft earlier this week declined to comment on the project when contacted by IGN.
