Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 alongside a mysterious Switch-exclusive horror game codenamed “Project M”

Silent Hill 2 remake AND Cronos: New Dawn developer Bloober Team is working on many up-to-date projects, including: Nintendo Switch2 version of his disorienting horror Layers of fearLayers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition and a number of smaller games from its subsidiary, Broken Mirror Games, including a mysterious Switch-exclusive game codenamed Project M.

We don’t exactly know when the Masterpiece Edition will land – it’s still marked to arrive in 2025, even though we’ve already exhausted the rest of the year – but as per the company’s report recent investor briefingis described as a “full edition”, likely including the base game with later content and refreshed graphics seen in 2023’s Layers of Fears.

What about the Broken Mirror offer? Here we can expect an isometric horror game I hate this place based on the 1980s comic book of the same name, which will still premiere next month but has been pushed back to January 29, 2026. But two games with code names: Project M and Project F are also in the works.

We know almost nothing about Project F, but it is assumed that Project M will premiere next year. While the live-action trailer we saw earlier this year reveals very little – except that M might stand for “Marionette”?! – Bloober confirms it will be exclusive to Switch 2 and the OG console.

And of course, after the phenomenal success of Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober is also working on a remake of the first game in the series. Unfortunately, there’s not much to say, but we did get a miniature teaser during June’s Konami Press Start Live show that included the Silent Hill logo and iconic music. Unfortunately, no release date was given, but it appeared after reports from February Bloober Team signed a contract with Konami create a up-to-date game based on the IP of a Japanese company.

We thought the 2023 remake of Layers of Fear was “OK”, giving it a rating of 6/10writing, “Layers of Fear is an atmospheric journey into the shattered psyche of some seriously tortured artists, but the predictable shock tactics fail to deliver more than a few real scares, let alone layers of them.”
