Hoyoverse favors the length of Honkai Star Rail tasks

Monstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Fontaine and Natlan. Here are the five complete regions Genshin Strikeand we calculated that the total duration of the Archon mission was approximately 74 hours. Hoyover doesn’t beat Honkai Star Railway however, there are allegations of favoritism as the novel numbers show the time it takes to complete each HSR world, and it’s kind of shocking. Even though the game was released a full three years later and had one less region, the main quests in Honkai Star Rail will take you… 74 hours.

That’s right – the last five years of Genshin’s history are exactly equal to the two and a half years of Honkai Star Rail’s history, at least in terms of time. Post on Reddit divides the worlds to clarify the calculations – while the Space Station took just under two hours, the time gradually increases, with a chilly six to eight hours for the next two worlds. This is followed by the 18-hour Penacona mission, culminating in an impressive 39.5-hour main quest in the recently released HSR world, Amphoreus. The post also states how long it would take to complete the tasks if you skipped every possible bit of dialogue – and Amphoraeus is still somehow six hours long.

For many, these are the tasks that make Hoyoverse games so intriguing and enjoyable, so lore lovers can’t get enough. We can only imagine that HSR’s recent introduction of a “skip” dialogue button was a reaction to players who prefer combat or gacha elements to quests – Amphoreus and, to some extent, Penacons were probably a headache for some. With this feature, Hoyoverse basically pats you on the back and tells you that it’s okay if you like knowledge dumps a little less.

Other fans who like the story are concerned that the quality of the cutscenes drops and the characters just sit and talk – Reddit users suggest that the budget could focus on the script. Some even carelessly suggested HSR’s budget was spent on the rumored Hoyoland theme park. We know it’s an exaggeration, but behind the humor there are real concerns. Given the rumors that Hoyoverse mainly created Genshin Impact to pay for Honkai Star Rail, I don’t think there’s any merit to these claims. Given the pace at which updates come out, cutscenes are probably the least time-consuming way to keep things fun, but fans are right to think so.

We assume that with the release of Genshin Impact’s Nod Krai, the Hoyoverse flagship game will soon return to the top spot in terms of quest length, but we’ll keep an eye out for any news about Honkai Star Rail that may indicate that future quests in Amphoreus could take even longer than Nod Krai. Who knows, maybe Nod Krai will turn out to be a quick expedition after all.
