After the meeting of Enzo Favar, hero Mafia: The Old CountryI couldn’t not remember for the first time Kingdom Come: DelivanceHenry of Skalitz. Despite the birth of several hundred years (from the 19th and slow nineteenth century, respectively), the heroes of both games are aimed at leading the player through a sole proprietorship based on a high -degree of historical realism. But where Henry’s story made me deeply, Enzo did not have time – and the problem lies in the development of the character.

Now a teenager, Enzo is close to buying his freedom, but after a violent incident he ends up escaping from the mine and joins the mafia. Although Henry had a much better childhood as a son of a blacksmith in a medieval Czech Republic, his teenage years were also abruptly disturbed when the enemy forces plundered his village, forcing him to escape and join Sir Radzieg’s service.
You might think that both newborn people in an forthright adverse situation, right? Well, in the case of Enzo not so much. At the time of escaping from the Enzo mine, he begins to show his unlimited talent when he holds his knife one on one with experienced mafioso. Maybe a beginner’s happiness? But when it hides in a country house just a few hours later, Enzo has no problem inventing a fresh party of criminals and pulling them out one after the other. In each subsequent fight, Enzo repeats this impressive feat, removing all the gangs independently-it’s strange that Don Torrisi wants this one-man army on his side.
If Enzo is simply extremely good in slipping out, fighting a knife and shooting, I could accept it. However, shortly after joining the mafia, a horse race was announced: Palio di San Celeste. Unfortunately, Don Torrisi’s jockey is not able to ride, but Enzo, a boy who has not so long stuck in the mines, enters freely as a replacement – and wins.
Later, a car race was announced in San Celeste. Guess who is winning? Enzo! When does Baron’s son have to save himself from a huge enemy camp that fixes the situation? A completely modern recruit, enzo. When the car owner cannot start his vehicle, Enzo will try; Immediate success. Guess who spent all his youth in the sulfur mine, but maybe read well? It’s Enzo again. There has never been a more talented man throughout the history of Sicily.
Do not take it in the wrong way, Henry of Skalitz, but in comparison you are incompetent peasant. Despite the fact that he had some secret sword training from the mercenary, Henry Egeses need a good fight Kingdom Come: DelivanceAnd it certainly will not be a single army at the end. It was a humble experience when at the beginning of the game I tried to save the girl from the Devil’s group and was hit in a few seconds. When a side mission told me to join the local tournament shortly after, again, I was absolutely destroyed. And when I returned to my village to regain the lost sword, falling into the bandits, I didn’t survive two seconds in the next one -on -one duel.
As it turns out, a teenage hobbyist for swords without proper armor has no chance against experienced opponents. Poor Henry: I can’t fight, I can’t read, no money, there is no speech and charm skills … but as a player this weakness had the strangest influence on me: I Dear This. Thanks to these failures, you really feel like a newborn, inexperienced boy who has not yet had the right learning. The Czech Republic from the fourteenth century would not seem half so harsh and realistic if it was not so challenging to survive.
After origin from the mine, a place known for leaving children without ajar, starving and often disabled, Enzo fights should be at least as great as Henry, if not more. But because of his immediate success in virtually everyone, you do not feel the brutality of his situation or any sense of achievement when he is fighting.
Lack of progress is not only reserved for skills; This is also observable in the comparative emotional states of the characters. When Henry’s parents are murdered, and Enzo’s best friend dies because of neglect and abuse, both characters suffer from traumatic experience at the beginning of their history. But while Henry persecutes nightmares, constantly talking about the destruction of his hometown and trying to facilitate another survivor, enzo, joy in his mafioso. It seems that he was not disturbed by his deceased friend, the fate of his former colleagues or his personal choices.
Of course, it’s nice to play as a sturdy, powerful person, but you will reach this point in Kingdom Come: Delivance at last. Henry can learn to read, enchant, fight and train dogs in order, but it requires effort. In the meantime, you have to work with what you have: you can save the girl at the beginning of the game, just as you can escape from random bandits on the road, but after paying their attention, the only option escapes. Similarly, you will be able to beat bandits, win tournaments and full archery challenges, but not earlier than you reach half until slow.
Had Kingdom Come: Delivance I did not convey Henry’s fights as brilliantly as I liked the history of Enzo more. At the moment, however, every day I will take a medieval peasant as a Sicilian hero of the action.
