Since the premiere of PS5 in November 2020, PlayStation has expanded the DualSense controller line to contain 12 additional standard colors, as well as a vote of confined edition of controllers with popular PlayStation characters and live designs. Special edition DualSense controllers
In addition to the standard colors of the DualSense controller, Sony has also released several confined editing controllers over the past few years. Probably the most popular offer of confined time was the celebration of PlayStation milestones in November 2024, when Sony introduced the entire PlayStation 30th Anniversary collection, which contained the standard Dualsense controller, PS5 Slim, PS5 Pro, PlayStation Portal and Dualsense Edge Controller, each with IConic gray PlayStation color.
Although you can still get some special editing controllers, they are often much above the retail price, because Sony only produces a confined amount. In addition to the collection from the 30th anniversary, Sony also issued a confined edition of Dualsense controllers on the occasion of the release of God of War: Ragnarok, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Irefed Concord, Astro Bot, The Last of Us, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, and recently Ghost of Yotei.

When do PS5 controllers go on sale?
It is several times throughout the year where you can find discounts for PS5 controllers. The latest discounts we saw took place in PlayStation Days of Play Sale in June. Standard DualSense controllers amounted to USD 20, and Dualsense Edge received the largest discount from the first edition. Next time you can probably expect a drop in prices on Black Friday. Although it is certainly possible that tariffs for game accessories can above all enhance prices, there will still be price reductions from November.
