The original Gears of War from 2006 is a classic case “Do not judge the book by the cover”; This seemingly petite, brother-forged, not only one of the best series of covers of a third person with iconic gameplay and weapons, but also one that moves to stereotypes to embrace them (when you heard someone last time who called Dickwad? Ten years after the first rework he received another from Gears of War: Related. In opposite to some games they have. Premature remaster treatment a few years after their release, this looks and seems to be noticeable.
As we expect from the Xbox Game Studios The Coalition programmer, crowds of PS5 and Steam are welcome in the first game in this iconic series with wonderful state-of-the-art graphics and framerates and without waiting on the screens of long loads. Before we get to the details of reloaded, here is what Ign said about the first remasterie of Gears of War from 2015:
Since the game of about seven hours I can say that the glowing review of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition and its little mistakes are still true in the case of reloaded. The story begins by casting you in the density of losing war. Things go from shit to Shittier for Marcus Fenix and the crew, when they try to perform one task that gets out of control, and although it may not be fun for them, it is certainly electrifying, especially in the case of technical updates. Here is the most crucial information:
- Loaded game in 4K with a output to 120 Hz (if you have a screen for it).
- 60 frames per second is a good update of the consoles for the campaign, which previously increased only to 30 frames per second during the premiere and 60 frames per second with strengthening the efficiency of the X series, and 120 frames per second in multiplayer mode is equally welcome.
- There are more options for changing control, sound and more overloaded than in the Ultimate edition.
A bit of color
The edition of the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition did a great job, notoriously modernizing the gray appearance of the original Xbox 360 with color regulations, raising muddy gray and brown fog from the planets of the cheese. Reloaded goes a step further, with an even more vibrant color palette and better lighting, which resembles what we saw in Gears 5. The touched style ensures additional vitality for throwing blood when killing chain chains, and the blue sky shadowy by smoke and dust also looks nice. The coalition also added additional details to the environment, such as additional images in legal buildings, dense shelves, fridge with rotting food, more corpse and other appropriate decor.
Welcome to Delta Squad, PS5
This is still very strange, seeing the Xbox Game Studios on the screen when I hold DualSense, but I can only say that the destruction of the exclusive line did not hurt one war running. If so, it was mighty for me to cooperate on PlayStation 5. The reloaded core is the same between all three platforms, but Dualsense adds a phrase with adaptive triggers and all communications made by the radio output using the controller speaker. It was a neat surprise, having dialogue and sound effects – such as the impact of the perfect lively reloading – in this way.
After saying, adaptive triggers can scare away in some situations, for example when jumping to a triangle, in which triggers feel that they have maximum resistance to shooting from the tower or when driving a vehicle, so I could see how unbelievable they are. I got tired of it in the second act during a long driving section, so I ended up turning off adaptive triggers a bit.
Another aspect of runs that evolved in time is the strenuous Shake with Roadie Run. This is less clear in other Gears games that have appeared since then, but the coalition has preserved an exaggerated effect by default. I appreciate his unique accent and that trembling encourages tactical exploit. Running after a meeting is not a way to overload, and if you do it, you will probably be punished for it. Instead, you will want to run and jump between the cover, protecting yourself from the enemy’s attack. However, if you don’t like the screen shake, you can turn it off. It’s good to have options!
A few minor mistakes
It also connects to frigid add -ons, which I saw in about six hours, in which I played on PlayStation 5. At the control points at the control points, it jumped forward and directed in a different way, the voices of the character will fall randomly, and I saw that some enemies got stuck between the cover. These errors seemed rarely and were not too burdensome, and they are probably not nothing that would not fix. I have not seen this happening with the Xbox version, but only because I did not see them, does not mean that they are not there. Errors are so complex!
Bad Squad AI
One of the actively annoying problems with the gameplay that I came across were, as incompetent and generally, my companions AI were at the difficulty level, which is a noticeable reduction in how they performed in the Edition Ultimate Edition. They will go down in the reload constantly, while in the Ultimate edition they still fell from time to time, but it seemed that they were helping more. Hardcore is only a step above normal and below madness, so I expected that they should be able to keep at least a little. I noticed that the Waltzing house in the gloomy and dying on a lurking Kryll, which shattered him in a few seconds in one mission, and from time to time the house or the other two companions, Cole and Baird, got stuck far behind, not wanting to leave the door. I love the Delta team, but I don’t revive every meeting just to expose myself to danger.
Cherry at the top: Add -ons for Gears fans
Gears of War: Reloaded contains a nice section of accessories that is something you want to see in such a remaster to reward returning fans who buy it for the second or third time. What will interest most people in the Extras section are five different problems with Gears of War Comic. Gripping COG collector tags in the entire campaign unlocks pages in five different issues of Gears of War Comic, which is a nice reward for those who did not read them. It was available in the Ultimate edition and it is a welcome return. Completion of campaigns also unlocks shapely conceptual art.
And although many loan sets may not be what someone fresh in this game cares for, for people like me, seeing loans available to reloaded, ultimate edition, and the original is in line with respect for teamwork.
Multiplayer has only minor corrections
Multiplayer has not changed (in terms of content) between the Ultimate and Reloaded release, although the coalition improved to dedicated 60 Hz servers, unlike 30 Hz, which we had in previous versions. The maps also obtained remaster treatment, with better lighting, visual effects, and most importantly, update up to 120 frames per second on consoles (PC players also receive the option of 240 frames per second). I expect that tuning of the weapon will be flowed after starting; The coalition has noticed that it introduces some Gnasher improvements, makes established injuries from lively reloading and subsequent corrections based on beta feedback.

If this is your first time to play Gears of War, I recommend finding a friend who joined you – Gears of War teams have always designed these games for a partner (and as I mentioned, and and I really do not attract his weight at higher levels of difficulty). Fortunately, the coalition has maintained the option of playing Coopop Cooced Coach, which we do not see enough, and of course you also have the option Cross Gomplay, if your cooperative’s buddy is in a different system. I am still undecided whether I want to spend another cooperative replay on Xbox or PS5, or reflect between them (thanks, cross progression!), But I am excited to immerse myself again in any way.
