Wait for Hollow Knight: Silksong is almost over, and Team Cherry announces today that the game will finally be released on September 4, 2025, over six years after its announcement.
But it seems that Hollow Knight lovers are not obsessed with Silksong News, because Team Cherry apparently works on even more Silksong content for months or even years.
It comes from Bloomberg interview With co -founders of Team Cherry Ari Gibson and William Pellen, who ends when the couple confirms that they are already planning additional content for Silksong.
“Launching this is of course quite exciting,” said Pellen. “What will happen to us is equally exciting.”
“The most interesting thing is what we can add to this,” added Gibson. “We got a plan. Although some plans for this thing are also a bit ambitious, but I hope we can achieve some.”
It does not shock that the couple has more what they want to add to Silksong. The game originally began as DLC for Hollow Knight, but it grew and evolved when the band is developing this idea more and more. And Silksong still developed throughout the development, and both programmers claim that they just had a great time, adding things that excited them.
“You are always working on a new idea, a new subject, a new area, a new boss,” said Pellen. “These things are so nice. It’s to finish the game that we stop. We could continue.”
“At some point I remember that I had to stop sketching,” said Gibson. “Because I went:” Everything I draw here must end up in the game. It’s a nice idea, it is a nice idea, it is. ” You realize: “If I don’t stop drawing, it will take 15 years.”
The couple tells Bloomberg that their pleasure in the development process and the desire to add more funny things was so long that development. Gibson says that the game “never got stuck”, but they are a small team and the games take some time. “There was no great controversial moment for this.”
In particular, despite the zeal of the community around Silksong and memes, obsession and fanaticism around its final edition, neither Gibson nor Pellen paid much attention. They say that they tried to keep silence during development, both to avoid corruption of the community and, above all, focusing on development. But then development lasted much longer than initially thought. Still, they didn’t read any Reddit or YouTube comments.
“It’s nice that people are passionate about the game and that they apparently created their strange or very stimulating communities around her,” said Gibson.
“I feel that we will ruin their fun by releasing the game,” said Pellen.
