A novel one -player action game inspired by a classic Korean novel was announced for PS5.
Woochi The Wayfarer is published by Nexon and developed by his subsidiary Lorevault. This is described as an adventure from fantasy action, as well as based on peoples.
The story of Chon Up’I It presents the story of a real Taoist scholar who lived in the half of Joseon (~ 1550). However, he has magical powers in the story, which we would really expect in the game.
Nexon Boss Park Yong-Hyun said in a broken press release:
“Woochi Wayfarer will provide a fresh and unique experience of fun, based on classic Korean materials, and at the same time will have an emotional resonance, with which everyone can refer to every world. We plan to present a game that will appeal to players of all cultures, telling an amazing story that fully shows developmental abilities and collected by Nexon Games.
The game is built using the Unreal Engine 5 and although the trailer seems to be CG, maybe it gives the taste of what you can expect from the final product.
In a press release, he mentions that the band “hunts on the location” in Korea, where they “visit cultural places personally to reproduce the era of Joseon in high quality 3D”.
Blurb is still developing:
“One player narrative will provide players with a deeply engaging and exciting game of action with magical settings together with Korean traditional monsters and music.”
We expect an intensive character action game here, but we hope that the fight is more devilish, it can cry than Dark Souls – although it is a personal taste.
There is no release date in the game yet, but we really like historical Korean surroundings. Are you intrigued by what you’ve seen so far?
