Double head Strauss Zelnick says that the boss of Borderlands Randy Pitchford “can sometimes be controversial-sometimes intentionally, sometimes unintentionally”, but “I still love him to death”

Borderlands 4 It will cost 70 USD, 2K publishers were confirmed in June. This seemingly innocent fact was a great news after the price of the upcoming booty shooter was thrown into the headers when the head of Randy Pitchford’s gearbox development caused slack with a series of controversial tweets.

The general Pitchford responded to a fan who expressed concern about the prospect of paying USD 80 for Borderlands 4, saying: “If you are a real fan, you will find a way to make it happen.”

Pitchford eventually had to deal with the negativity around his comments, which some suggested that they could harm the chances of Borderlands 4’s success. But this was not the latest drama revolving around Randa Pitchford, which often gives the press much to the conversation, whenever he deals with balmy topics in the video game industry.

So, in an interview with Strauss Zelnicka, general director of the home company Gearbox, before the latest (and impressive) financial results, I asked if he had a mini heart attack when Pitchford twists and whatever.

In his answer, Zelnick admitted that Pitchford could be a controversial figure and even suggested that some of his antics are intentional, but ultimately he is a substantial fan.

“I love Randy, first. Let me say it on the album,” Zelnick began. “And I love his great personality. I love his passion and is one of the great game creators. He can sometimes be controversial – sometimes deliberately, sometimes inadvertently. I still love him to death.”

Some expected to sum up that Nintendo (and and Microsoft) would follow them and will reach an 80 USD jump for Borderlands 4, which, as he decided, would keep the line for 70 USD. I asked Zelnicka why it was the right decision for the scorers of formwork, and his answer was similar to his response to the 2K mafia: an elderly country set to 50 USD.

“We have always been involved in changing prices and we really want to make sure that consumer experience in the title is that Borderlands 4 is a great, great game that we think is and that we offer great value at the same time,” said Zelnick.

Zelnick used this type of answer to answer questions about the price of GTA 6 (some believe it will amount to USD 80, some even $ 100). “We always want to make sure that we provide much more values than we take consumers, because we consider consumer experience as the intersection of the very thing and what you paid for it,” said Zelnick, generally speaking about Take-Two strategy.

“So we just want to make sure that we always deliver much more than we download anything.”
