Review of Audeze MM-100 headphones

After breaking the MM-100 driver they actually relaxed. What was initially a slightly edged melody became shiny and polished, and the bass reaction is much better.

Despite this, don’t expect that it will sound so elasticity and demanding like a regular game headphone set. This is simply not his task, instead devoting the bass to pushing the skull to the shiny, ultra-open sound profile. The bass is certainly there, he just sits where it was designed to sit, and not increased to high massive, as in most consumer headphones.

This does not mean, however, that you cannot make the MM-100 drivers sound great for everyday exploit. If you are thinking about their set, you probably know the basic EQ, and after adding a reinforced curve in the Harman style in my basic audio Realtek software, MM-100 is properly different.

Above there is an example of this type of curve that you want to set to get a stunning, more conventional sound from these phones, and really allows you to blink the quality of these drivers. The separation chapter, sound landscape and reproduction of planar mm-100 magnetics mix are capable of being perfect and the smoothness of the frequency reaction is associated with the spine to listen to some songs.

However, you have to improve a little to achieve this, and I think you can argument that you should not be at such a price.

However, the mm-100 is set from a box for production duties, so I don’t think it is too surprising that drivers prioritize accuracy, not artificially abolishing beauty, by default. I think it is best to think about how a wide palette of Sonic colors, ready to paint, if you are prepared to put a petite work in the brush stroke. What if you have a good headphone amplifier? The better. The Audez set likes to push, whether through EQ or additional reinforcement in the signal chain.

But what about the game? Well, the main reservation here is that you don’t get a microphone, like many audiophile headphones. However, if you are a person who is more immersed in the game, if the sound scene is wider, my goodness derive from pleasure.

We can also be friends. In any case, a lot was written about a good set of open back in combination with a good audio engine and a lot of this writing came from me. This ultra -wide Sonic ability means that tender, almost delicate details can shine through the mixture, which in turn means that the buzzing insect in the open field can really make you feel because of the reflex.

Yes, dear reader, it happened to me. In any case, Audeze MM-100 is an excellent game companion, although I would like it to be a little lighter. This weight 475 g makes the chassis a wonderfully premium in the hand, but after wearing it for a 4-hour session, my neck certainly feels the load. A headband made of artificial leather in combination with earpads filled with cooling gel still provides a generally comfortable wearing experience.

So the real question is: should Audeze MM-100 be considered for the next purchase of headphones? I’m afraid the answer is complicated.

If you are looking for great drivers, a microphone and something more traditionally tuned, Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Pro is still a better choice. While the capital .45 drivers do not comply with flat magnetic standards, they also offer a stunning, wide sound landscape and do not need so much improvement to make the best exploit of them.

And whether planar magnetics will really be your heart’s desire, you should definitely look at Audeze Maxwell. It is the right headphone set for games, with smaller concessions made of absolute accuracy. Really, it is the best of both worlds – magnetic planar splendor, combined with the functions of the headset in perfect harmony. He deserved the best wireless place in our best audiophile headphones for a game guide and believe me that he arrived there for some reason.

However, the MM-100 has a different purpose and this reason should be slightly different. In the case of video editors, audio engineers and those of you who really seriously approach the accuracy of your sound, I would say it’s worth considering.

It is greatly made, precise for guilt and seems to be earnest audio equipment for earnest people. I prefer Maxwell. But whether I should be called to study for a session or two again, it is MM-100, which I will take with me.
