Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV Review

Published:

Super Mario Party Jamboree released on Switch at the end of last year on a generally positive party and for a reason. The inevitable frustrations of a typical Mario Party game still exist in Jamboree (it may seem tardy and unfair and it is not particularly fun to play alone), but many knowledgeable decisions distinguish her from the pages that preceded her. All these good things still exist in the SWITCH 2 edition, but the additions, although pioneering, are mostly disappointing and do not automatically justify the cost of the potential updating the version you already have, or completely buying it on Switch 2.

Mario Party Jamboree, which is fully included in this package (or you can pay to add the content of Jamboree TV, if you have it on Switch), then a good game of Mario Party. He has comical boards, the most playable characters and good options, such as the choice of traffic control games or a reduction in randomization. The added mechanic “Jamboree Buddies” is also a basic and fun way to introduce a larger personality into each match, because everyone competes with the team from Staple Mario with additional bonuses. Minigames is more or less connected with the previous Mario Party games, with many, which are fun and playback, and others that you never think about after finishing.

The great addition of the awkwardly entitled Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV is the last piece. Jamboree TV enriches the Switch 1 version, adding fresh modes, using mouse and camera controls, if you have to connect (most USB-C cameras will work). The camera options are fun and is stupid in a complementary way to see the face next to the player’s character during the game. It reminds me of the arcade game of Mario Kart and my favorite multiplayer Wii U, Mario Chase.

In the photo: a screenshot that you can’t actually take in the game

Seeing everyone’s reaction on the screen in real time is gleeful, but you can’t make screenshots or movies when the camera is connected and used. If you can’t do a screenshot of the moment when your friend expresses the torment because of their arbitrary loss of the star, why did we stop the camera at all? The camera also does not follow the face, which means that if you want to appear in front of the camera while playing, it is better to be ready to sit in one place, without changing too much, which is not such a movement of the body that I associate with the word “party”.

The main games of the cameras are in the place of Bowser live, and its presentation is stupid in a way I liked. Bowser basically functions like a wrestling place MC, trying to build a crowd, and the camera put you in a crowd of Mario’s bad friends. It made me laugh and I would like to attach a screenshot here in this review. The games themselves are basic and do a good job, making you look stupid on television, which I wanted from them.

Added microphone games are not much, but similarly stupid. Shouting “Go!” On television, to make a miniature race car, there is an exact type of absurdity that leads to a good time. Mouse games are much more bountiful and functional without excessive creativity or unique. I didn’t like it because I wanted to recreate them, but because I have never played Mario Party games before. Fortunately, if you want to avoid previously concluded traffic games and newly added mouse and microphones games, this is a very effortless setting for activation.

The complete original Jamboree 1 game exists in the package as an option to bypass the fresh content, if you want, but all play boards (such as Roll ‘Em Raceway I like) are also available on Jamboree TV. All good fresh options are also available, such as removing bonus stars and acceleration of NPC if you play alone. All this leads to a solid and probably the best entrance to the franchise. The fresh content is frosty to play (and I recommend keeping mouse games in the mix), but I would not consider any of them target content. First of all, I am glad that a good Mario party is available in the starting window 2. This is not a game that I see myself, but as a way to accept a party with players about all skill levels, I am glad that I have it on a metaphorical shelf.
