Information Review

Platform review: Nintendo Switch 2
Available in:
Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch
Release date:
June 27, 2025

This is the basic collection of monotonous, uninhabited minibers, which ultimately just boils down to the same few buttons for a few minutes. It is combined with a laughter of a petite world of a concentrator, which is clearly devoid of action and an absolute nightmare to adapt or update.

Everything seems to be something that can be found in a free game in a mobile phone, not released $ 49.99 / 44.99 GBP for a completely up-to-date console.

Sure, useful graphics and the abundance of Tamagothi’s character can be enough to entertain a very petite child for an hour or two, but with such games Mario Kart World and the latest Donkey Kong Banana On the stage there is no real reason not to spend time and money more wisely and instead go for one of them.

Still

Spiritual successor Tamagothi Connection: Corner Shop Nintendo DS series, Tamagothi Plaza Seemingly helps in various stores of the charming city of Tamagothi. This is done by the end of miniature minigments, of which there are 12 – one for each store.

The first thing you notice is that none of them contains tutorials. You just expect to work out what to do from the very beginning, although this omission is not too obstacle, how simple the miniGry is.

The first I tried includes cooking gallets (flat, French cake), looking at the image of the desired customer order and mindlessly hitting the buttons to bake the skin and fill them with the desired ingredients.

They are accompanied by annoying sound effects, which I later found, can be turned off in the settings menu and prolonged, too snail-paced animations, it becomes dated almost immediately.

Others are a similar story: for example, helping in a personal gym, they rely on spamming shoulder buttons at a fixed pace, while the afternoon tea store simply pulls and drops several items on the table.

The only one I think is remotely comical was the dentist Minige, which causes Tamagothi teeth to eliminate terrifying petite creatures causing distribution, and even it just consisted in choosing options from the menu and pressing the button.

At the other end of the spectrum there is a MANGA MINIGE store, which is simply senseless. You are aimed at designing the manga panels by pulling and dropping some ready resources to the position, but scoring, measured on a zero scale to three stars, does not seem to correlate with anything else than the number of characters that you managed to press on the screen.

If you still polish a specific mini -ama, you will eventually offer a chance to improve it. This introduces several up-to-date options that slightly breaks down the monotony, but it takes a lot of time and is not significant enough to justify the effort.

There are also three additional minibers exclusively for the version of the Nintendo Switch 2 game. They are unlocked after you spent some time on the initial 12 and exploit the Joy-Con 2 mouse control functions. They are the strongest of the group, with such as Shuriken Shop, which makes you exploit Joy-Con 2 to aim Ninja stars, providing a few minutes of fun.

Unfortunately, it is not enough to exploit the overall package and is not as fascinating as some of the neat hardware tricks found in the software Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour.

There are over 100 characters of Tamagothi here, with unique models and even a strange dialogue.

In addition to mini -grams, there is a petite area of the hub to be discovered. In addition to the occasional conversation with another Tamagothi, he is empty and dull. You can improve it with a currency earned on minigaments, but progress is painfully snail-paced and by adding a few trees or a strange square here and there is simply not worth the effort.

There is also a slight content of history, it focuses on the recruitment of the hero to improve the city, so that it was chosen as the website of the Tamagothi festival, but it is basic and has spread incredibly thinly.

At least I can say it Tamagothi Plaza There is no shortage of characters. There are over a hundred tamagotchis to discover, all with unique models that look pretty nice. I just want the same effort to be put into literally every other aspect of the game.

Should I play Tamagothi Plaza?

Play it if …

Don’t play if …

Availability

There are no availability functions Tamagothi Plaza. In fact, there is a settings menu at all. You can adjust the volume of the game (with separate music, sound and voices settings) and change the camera control direction, but that’s all.

How I reviewed Tamagothi Plaza

I gave up for more than four hours Tamagothi Plaza on Nintendo Switch 2, or about four hours more than any reasonable person.

I tried each mini in the package and spent some time discovering the petite world. I carefully assessed the amount of fun I had at all times and compared my experience with testing other Nintendo Switch 2 games, such as Donkey Kong Banana AND Mario Kart World.
