Sony WF-C710N Review

Published:

When I sat for the first time to test Sony WF-C710N, I was disappointed. Although they easily connected to my platform, it happened that it is worth playing for hours, disconnecting sound and crackling sounds. I decided that it happened, I took it to another platform and had the same problem. After waiting for Sony to provide me with a replacement pair, and then connecting them with the same devices, now I feel very confident saying that I will never apply these buds to play.

It is a pity, because in fact there is a lot to love here except nightmares. The semi -transparent blue of my set looks great – taking place to the time of Seethrough equipment. They are also nice and solid, they not only feel mighty, but also with an IPX4 sustainability assessment. This assessment means that the buds are resistant to water and dust. If they are caught in the rain (or like Piña Coladas), he should be able to read it with a slight problem, although immersing it in the water is obviously without Gn.

Buds also combine with devices that are not very basic. Just hold the button connect to the back of the housing, go to Bluetooth settings on the device you want to apply, and select WF-C710N. You can even connect them with two different devices at the same time, and can switch between them, stopping the sound and playing on a secondary device.

The box is equipped with six rubber buds for buds (three different sizes in total), so there is room for adaptation. They managed to get off the bud at some point when he takes him out of his ear and my life flashed in front of my eyes (no, I’m not dramatic), but this did not happen.

They are also a convenient set of buds, partly thanks to its low weight, and partly in the way they just sit in your ears. They never feel that they protrude at an uncomfortable angle and it’s basic to just fall and go for a walk. When the phone was pointed out, my colleague Jess noticed that they were surprisingly circumspect.

Sony WF-C710N are designed with mobile phones at the front and center, and Sony marked them as such. There is no dedicated game mode, without a 2.4 GHz connector and you absolutely need to apply the sound control application. This application allows you to adjust the sound, get updates and there is no equivalent to PC. This means that if you play on a laptop and want to change the settings, you need to connect them again with the phone to change something.

Double connectivity makes it easier, but it is even somewhat inconsistent. These buds work perfectly on board without any problems with the consequence of sound, but double connectivity only like work. After connecting to a mobile phone, if I stop this music and play from a laptop, the buds elegantly detect which device is used and switch. This is not the case with a steam deck; I won’t say it’s a Linux problem, but …

I have to disconnect the buds from the deck or completely turn off the deck to play music on my phone, regardless of whether the sound is playing on a manual device. However, they remain in contact with both devices, so I can still apply the application and adapt the sound, but I can’t quickly connect on them, without completely turning off the steam deck. The same applies to Nintendo Switch 2, which connects well, but hesitates in double communication. On two different laptops, connectivity was solid, and the double connectivity worked as intended.

Buds offer animated sound and great busy noise cancellation (ANC). They succeed in particularly good work in the clashes of steel and violin in the contaminated player: the fall of Avalon, due to medium textured and ups. Where these sounds can be penetrating or keen in a worse set of buds, they feel quite balanced in the mixture. The bass, of course for a few buds, is not as mighty or thundering as a headphone set, but playing with EQ settings can give them a real OPH.

Bluetooth connectivity works well in relation to delays. There is a slight delay in buds and headphones specific to games, but this is not a enormous enough resolution to irritate me. Connected to a laptop for games, you probably won’t notice it.

In “You Know” Mother Falcon, demonstratively orchestral Pop/India album, donuts manage to capture the nuances of the cylindrical cello under the vocal line, without exceeding the complexities of clarinet or tube. The same quality allows you to undergo dialogue in games. In terms of prices, this level of sound quality is quite great. However, SoundCore Liberty 5 buds have a better battery life, and also offer great sound.

Liberty 5 also comes with LDAC, and Sony buds are not. LDAC – in fact, Sony technology – contributes to the streaming of a lossy sound with high rates above Bluetooth, which means that LDAC devices get a higher quality sound. Although you do not get to the full sound scene, the Earfun Air Pro 4 ear inserts also offer better battery life, more coherent connectivity and Anc sound, as well as the surroundings for 30 USD less.

Zagłębiarskie sounds of filters in some sounds around you, and for me the main difference was to better hear what I said, and now pick up the fan on the desk. This is a decent middle base between the lack of filtering and Anc and meant that I heard my partner speaking when he entered the room. Anc is very natural in this set of buds. The weaker Anc, which I used, added an almost artifesting effect to the bottom of the sound (probably to drown out the environment), and these buds do not noticeably do it.

Although the application is quite good, I do not have much freedom to change touch control. You can exchange them in the settings, but you choose from sets of preliminary settings instead of swapping individual. Touch controls themselves are quite solid because they rarely choose incorrect atmosphere. I usually feel the level of anxiety when the control requires four taps, but I managed to do it with a diminutive problem. The biggest problem I found with touch control was only remembering which setting was, which is not a bad problem.

Listen to the Sony WF-C710N microphone below:

The battery life on these buds is more or less average, offering about 30 hours from buds and housing in combination with Anc. This corresponds to 8.5/12 hours from the buds and 21.5 from the case.

For connections or walks, these are a solid set of buds. The quality of the microphone is good at the price, and the transition from my laptop to my phone was very elementary every time I needed it. Despite this, I wonder why someone can choose such buds, even if they don’t plan to play too many games with them.

Buy if …

✅ You want a few buds for a mobile phone: With a solid sound, a good sensitivity and a mighty case, it is a pair of buds that I happily put in my pocket or backpack.

Do not buy if …

❌ You plan to play on your computer: With two sets of the same ear inserts on many platforms, I discovered that they are constantly cracking, disconnecting and pumping low -quality sound.

❌ You play a lot of steam deck: double communication mode is at best fussy, which meant completely switching off the deck to connect to my phone.

Okay, I understand that they are not specifically for games, but it is not that the potential buyer does not have a wide trace of buds to choose from, and you can get a set that does everything they do at a similar price, but can also work on a game computer.

I felt very conflict in my test process with these buds, because I liked them quite every day, but their elephants in the shape of a computer in the shape of a computer in the room. I can’t look at the fact that two different sets of PF-C710N buds did not work on many game platforms, despite other Bluetooth headphone sets and buds that work well. Perhaps that’s why the real Sony game set, Inzone buds, shipping with a 2.4 GHz receiver, but I would still choose many other buds.

If you want versatile for your phone, manual, AND PC Gaming, these buds are not as good as they sound.
