This is perhaps the most beloved cinema in Warhammer 40,000 History of video games, a valuable relic of the past era, which is absorbed in the memories of fans of Workshop Grimdark. And woe to anyone who dare to change it so as not to go down the anger of all four gods of chaos.
This is how I imagine that programmers from Relic Entertainment felt after the release of high quality versions Dawn of War’s iconic introduction accompany the announcement of the date of edition of August 14.
The following film reveals the insertion of a dialogue from a strategic game in real time in 2004 in 2004 to introduce it to the introductory cinema, replacing part of the original sound along the way. The main change is the removal of the “iconic” (at least for 40,000 Warhammer fans!) Gumer shout roars through the cosmic infantry, which leads the blood forces of the crumb to fight with monstrous orcs.
In his Stead is Battlecry Gabriela Angelos, the champion of the Blood Ravens chapter, as it is heard in the game Dawn of War. The point is that even Gabriel Angelos screams in the trailer. He is a blood sergeant. And, as Dawn of War Fan claims, the up-to-date dialogue is poorly compared with the heroic scream that he replaced.
But that’s not all. People with lighted hearing and still lit memory will notice other sound changes. The dramatic input of Dreadnought is “ruined”, as they say, by adding voice lines that turn away from the entertainment sound of armets that spread and release enemy lines. New orc lines are also inserted.
“They ruined this! Sergeant’s Sergeant’s scream removed!” He declared one fanatic of the emperor’s life in the comments on YouTube.
“The original sound effects were perfect. You didn’t have to add all these voices. I will be honest, ruined them,” said another bhaakt.
“It makes him feel less well made and not so coherent. They just seemed so out of place and you can say that simply pushed to the top.”
“The new sound is terrible. It really pulls me out of it.”
“Leaving the scream of a sergeant is a crime against humanity, and therefore heresy.”
“The mind repairing the film, restoring the original sound? New things flow down, do not work at all and ruins nostalgia for us. I hope that it can be restored by launching,” said another, perhaps more considered a worshiper.
Perhaps this is what a relic will do. I asked the developer to comment on this online wave of complaints, and his answer suggested that the whole case was surprised by the studio.
“We decided to change the scream, because the original sound was quite distorted, which was noteworthy compared to some audiouchs in an improved trailer. To say, we heard feedback from fans – the roar was even more beloved than we realized! Who knows, we can have something for the fire.”
It seems that the relic has a solution in a sleeve that, I hope, will go somehow to arrange the anger of Warhammer 40,000 passionate fans. However, I realize that for the uninitiated all this confusion may sound like an excessive reaction. In the end we are only talking about a few sound changes.
But there is something not adapted in a rugged look, sense and ancient school sound. It resembles fans time in the history of PC games, when RTS ruled a henhouse, Astra Militarum was called Guard Imperial, and Warhammer 40,000 Superfan Henry Cavill just finished filming Hellraiser: Hellworld. The original enlivens memories of hazy summer days spent on heretics, my roommate desperately tried to outline my attacks. This up-to-date and “improved” cinema is too neat … frigid and will always be too recent.
None of this means that the final edition of War Dawn of War is hidden in nothing. I am really excited that I can play it, not just a tiny -term memory trip. This is a fantastic game – maybe the best game Warhammer 40,000 that has ever been created – and I can’t wait to exclude these heretics again. Maybe I will even convince my ancient partner to join me.
Return to the trailer! I interviewed the design director Philippe Boulle in May, when the final edition was announced, and we gushed to Dawn of War’s Intro Cinematic. This is why it is so good, according to Boulle:
“It was an amazing achievement in terms of loyalty at the time. We didn’t really see it at that time for 40,000 and it really got up as something that got out, would catch you and say:” Hey, it’s amazing. You must pay attention. ” And it will still be in the game.
“What amazes me when we look back at the fact that the director really persists. I think it is an underestimated key. For now, the rendering was phenomenal, but what really persists is the pace, drama, the end of this guy running on the hill and shot, planting this flag and drops from the fall.
Funny fact! Dave Wilson, executive producer and director supervising the perfect section of Warhammer 40,000 Animated Episode Animated Video, managed the Creation of the Dawn of War Intro Cinematic.
