If you are similar to me, there is a good chance that you are fed up with all the software that your gaming equipment has caused you to download only to adapt it. MSI has just announced that it will no longer be one of these companies, if you prefer
MSI showed MSI Portal X, a website that “eliminates the need for software installation.” You will be able to effectively synchronize RGB lighting for MSI Gear without a dedicated application. Given that the software is routinely the worst part of most equipment, I am glad that MSI allows users to omit it.
It is worth noting, however, that this page is not a way to get a software update. From time to time you will have to obtain drivers to keep up up to date. I am cautious that this can lead users to ignore software updates, but update only when there is a problem is a fairly common way to employ the equipment.
If you want to control the RGB and at the same time get one of the latest updates, MSI Center is still available for download, and although our experience with software for portable MSI are not great, we do not have sedate complaints at the MSI Center, only a few toddler.
The biggest obligations of the MSI Center Center is simply another application that is up to date and the application you need to stop when you turn on your computer. After the first installation, it seems that simply more bloating on the platform.
Early screenshots suggest that Portalx is a very plain application, giving users the opportunity to change colors, brightness and lighting effect of their equipment and not much more. This is more than enough for your set to look a bit more colorful.
MSI Portalx means a trend that I am a substantial fan. Last month, Corsair announced that it will implement its own online application for peripherals, and manufacturers such as Wooting and Keychron have internet applications that can be used to avoid downloading software.
Unfortunately, the Corsair application only works with peripherals, but MSI Portalx, as shown in a press release, will also work with equipment such as MSI RTX 5090 and MSI motherboards.
We do not yet have the full release date at MSI Portalx, but taking into account its announcement, we think that it can run in the near future. Just make sure that if you uninstall MSI Center, you will do the habit of manually updating the equipment. Good practice is always to have the latest drivers.
