Recently, we have written a lot about how continuous tariff chaos in the United States can affect the game industry, from consoles to accessories to software. And although some people seem quite concerned about how it can affect both consumers and business, the general director of Take-Dójka Strauss Zelnick seemed relatively unfainted by the idea of tariffs on today’s conversations with investors.
At the end of the connection, Zelnick was asked if he was afraid of the potential raise in console prices and their impact on the general game ecosystem. This referred to the last price raise on the Xbox series consoles and the expected PlayStation 5 growth, which may occur.
Zelnick believes that misleading, like a tariff forward and a return forward, fiscal guidelines Take-Two is quite embedded in stone, at least for the coming year:
“Our guide is for the next ten months, it is essentially part of the tax year that has not yet elapsed, and it is very difficult to predict where the tariffs will land, taking into account how matters have fallen so far. We feel quite sure that our platform has no significant, unless the tariffs do not apply in a completely different situation than today, and we are now there.
Zelnick has a reason to confidence. As he notes, most of the games in honor of the two released in the coming tax year come to platforms, which people are already largely. Several people buyers or not buying Xbox series, PS5 and even Nintendo Switch 2 will not have a huge difference. What’s more, many revenues from Take-Two come from digital purchases in current games, such as GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2 and its mobile activities, which are not subject to tariffs at all.
Despite this, as Zelnick notes, everything is still in the air. Over the past few months, we have talked to analysts over the past few months about tariffs, and everyone has repeated that the situation is constantly changing and unpredictable, for which even the general director Take-Dwoje leaves a place.
We talked directly with Zelnick before the investor’s conversation about the company’s quarter, including the discussion about the GTA 6 development schedule and Zelnick’s thoughts on the recent delay in the game next year. We also wrote about comments on questions and answers Zelnicka about Nintendo Switch 2 and why he is the optimist for its release.
