Verdict
While private access to the Internet (PIA) was once quite decent and reliable VPN, it began to fall since he was bought by the Kape Technologies. The band is not only a whole can of worms when it comes to fears about privacy, but instead of useful VPN add -ons, it is equipped with such things as a washing machine to pristine the washing machine, which is not very useful. Meanwhile, I could never take him with Disney Plus. Do not get me wrong, as a well -known and respected brand, there is still a head and shoulders above many unclear resources of storage storage that sell customer data or worse, and for Netflix, games or general exploit of PIA works well. Thanks to the cheaper price it is arduous to be too critical, but there are definitely better VPN.
- Very affordable
- User -friendly application
- Perfect for public Wi-Fi
- Unexplained connection failures
- No Disney Plus compliance
- Belonging to the Kape Technologies

Also known as PIA, private internet access is usually considered the best VPN mobile applications and provides VPN services since 2010. Since then, he has been building a powerful user base, various events have reduced confidence in the service over the years.
Initially developed as a tool to prevent the IP addresses of internet relays available, private internet access was purchased by Kape Technologies in 2019, join Cyberghost, ExpressVPN and Zenmate – all competitive VPN services. Unfortunately, Kape Technologies has a destitute reputation among supporters of security and privacy, earlier based on its activities around the toolbars and browser pain. In addition, PIA as a service has a lot to offer, but do the functions and performance of this VPN make it worth considering?

Specifications of private Internet access (PIA):
How private is Pia?
In addition to the expected ability to hide the IP address and data encryption, private internet access has a NO-LOGS principle (“PIA never tracks, stores, records or sells browsing”) and offers divided tunnel. This function allows you to exploit applications that VPN do not like, including some banking applications.
The rules of the lack of logs are vital because when there are all data on internet activity, they cannot be called because they do not exist. Importantly, PIA is registered in the USA, which means that it can be forced to provide information to the authorities here and abroad as part of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, so the LOGS policy is particularly vital for this, especially in the current political climate.
Advanced options are also available, such as blocking malware and a murder switch. During testing, this worked to avoid the risk of DNS leakage, ensuring that your activity remains private if the network connection drops suddenly.
Transfer of ports and multi-hop are also offered as add-ons. Multi-Hop is a version of the “Double VPN” PIA, in which an additional layer of encryption is introduced, with the intention of making data even more private. In the case of games or streaming, this is almost unnecessary, but it can be useful for confidential data (e.g. searches related to medical problems).
Automation function was also included, although it is marked as experimental. The idea is for VPN to automatically connect in some types of network. Configuring it requires additional permissions for applications that you may not be comfortable for, agreeing because it can basically see where you are and what you are doing.
Like Android and iPhone, PIA can work in Windows, MacOS, Linux, Apple TV, Android TV, and also has a Chrome extension. This is a very versatile VPN.

Using PIA on a mobile phone
Using VPN, while the game usually means activating and connecting to the VPN server before starting the game.
It is the same with any VPN, but the PIA user interface makes it particularly speedy. Start the application (assuming that you have already registered and registered) and touch the button to make an immediate connection. It is speedy and painless, although you can choose specific server locations. If you have a server you plan to exploit regularly, you can set it as a favorite.
Unfortunately, PIA does not group VPN servers by type or purpose, which is a shame, especially when so many other main suppliers. Instead of choosing, for example, “streaming servers” or “P2P servers”, this is only a case of choosing your region. At least the possibility of your favorite server will make it easier to return to one that you know that it works well for the preferred exploit.
Recently, I was in a shopping center and naturally wanted to exploit my VPN with free Wi-Fi. Interestingly, making a connection was not possible, but instead of explaining this, the PIA application simply flashed amber, without an oral description. I just tried another VPN (in this case Nordvpn) to try to connect that it became clear that the area in which I was was beyond the reach of Wi-Fi. Simple news could support here.
Other private internet access functions
There are still several other PIA functions that I should tell you to give you a more comprehensive idea of the service. One of these functions is a dedicated IP address, which means that you avoid any negative relationship with other people who can exploit VPN. Perhaps you have seen situations in which the VPN user cannot access the site because of “too many demands from this IP address” or something similar, and this is what a dedicated IP address can support, although it should be bought as additional. Other optional add -ons include corporate VPN support and anti -virus protection.
Not surprisingly, PIA also supports video streaming services. However, during my tests I discovered that it was not as comprehensive as I expected. Many services advertise their darkening online as Netflix VPN, so I tried this service first, exploring and playing several programs in the US Netflix Library. So far so good. Unfortunately, Disney+ was a different story and I was unable to connect regardless of what I did (or through Wi-Fi or the exploit of data).
This is not a problem with other VPN I looked at, so it seems that this is something that private access to the Internet is struggling with. This is particularly disappointing because Pia promotes its service as the possibility of “access to all favorite content”. Unfortunately, this is not the case – unless all your favorite content is simply on the platforms to which Pia can get.
PIA also contains a free license for a sheltered mass storage service (although it is worth mentioning that you can already get 10 GB on this platform for free). Another “bonus” is a washing machine license, but because it is a poorly recognized computer cleaning application, this is not an electrifying function.
Verdict
I am willing to be more charity among recognized VPN suppliers, but the exploit of PIA turned out to be largely disappointing. Although registration is speedy and basic, the overall experience in this application is far from intuitive. The VPN service itself is to some extent reliable, supporting privacy, but does not offer advanced functions of its competitors (and indeed, its stablets such as Expressvpn).
In terms of PIA speed, it is reliable enough and can support streaming from Netflix foreign libraries. Everything is fine, but for some reason he can’t do Disney Plus, which seems to be a huge omission. It is possible that it was a problem located or fleeting during the testing week. However, this is quite a long time, so I am willing to think that Pia is simply more focused on Netflix compatibility.
The current ownership of the software and emphasis on computer cleaning applications that no one asked to leave a somewhat unpleasant sense of private internet access. What I once thought was reliable, though a bit of Lite VPN, now seems to be contaminated and unbelievable. When it comes to VPN, you really need a service you can trust. Unfortunately, a low -reputation computer cleaning application is sorry that too close to the previous business model of Kape Technologies for comfort.
Private Internet access can be used for mobile games in which VPN is allowed, but I reluctantly exploit it for everything that, apart from ensuring a public Wi-Fi connection.
