Genshin Impact is one of the most popular Gach games in the world. The free RPG game from Hoyoverse allows players to release a virtual currency called primogems to have a chance (“wish”) to get sporadic characters of different power. It is a microtransactions system that turned out to be controversial, but for programmers, generating billions of dollars of revenues over the years.
In most games, the amount of money that you need to spend to finally get the character is suspended from the player – and you can see why, considering needy opportunities. But now Hoyoverse has updated the influence of Genshin to do this, revealing the front and center how much you need to spend.
Genshin Impact Shop now tells us players how many drawings you get at each purchase (you can buy wishes directly with the direct conversion rate displayed) and how much you have to spend to guarantee the stretch of the character, which ranges from 1.98 to 475.20 USD. This number is based on basic drawing prices (without bonuses), and if you find maximum stretches to guarantee the figure (180 drafts).
Thus, although the published number adopts the highest possible price, if you do not intentionally buy bundles with a higher value (and more high-priced), you can face the spending of almost USD 500, which attracts only one character in Genshin Impact.
Players reacted with a mixture of disbelief and positivity at the crossing.
“The whole thing is strange … transparent,” said Redditor Sytion-Plex. “You see it clear as a day, 100 bucks 50 stretches every time you are staring at you (whales think, and maybe he doesn’t even care that they” know “mathematics). Man, this is a fancy, even for those who can and spend, there is a lot of mental suppression. “
“Unpunched positively,” said Whilyam. “The only people helped to darken costs, are those who want to use people or make it easier for people with addictions to justify spending money.”
“I think it is more difficult to justify expenses with a terrible conversion rate visible with your eyes,” added Mtboomerang. “I think that the biggest problem with addicts is that they follow emotions, and then calculate. Thanks to the visible conversion rate, their logic will close emotions on time before they are deep in the abyss of emotions, trying to come up with the reason.”
“Good changes that should be normalized for all gach and other similar games with gambling/arches mechanics,” said Micebest1.
Some players are now calling Hoyoverse to simply let Genshin influence players to buy characters directly, taking into account that they now know how much cost they can cost them through the Gacha system.
“I would like them to just sell these damn characters” Westerd said. “Horse armor works on me, I would pay a strange ton for these games if I knew that I would get what I want every time.
“Instead, the extensive majority of their revenues come from a diminutive percentage of players used to gambling, feeding on people like vultures. I hate it, I feel so disgusting, whenever I give in.”
So why did Hoyoverse add this layer of transparency to Genshin? This is because in January she lost a court case against the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which resulted in the sale of loot
If you are wondering why in January Hoyoverse has reached his settlement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) This increased the transparency of parental consent and virtual currency practices in their games. The results are starting now.
As part of this, Hoyoverse is now by American legitimacy to verify the accounts of American players. This is because, as part of the FTC settlement order, the sale of genshin boot boxes for children under 16 without parents’ consent was banned.
The age verification process will be introduced to all US players by May 20. If you do not provide information about age until July 18, 2025, you could see that your account was suspended, the developer warned. If the verification is not completed by July 20, 2026, your Hoyoverse personal data will be permanently deleted.
