Earfun Air Pro 4 headphones review

Published:

Currently, there are plenty of ear inputs on the market of USD 50-100, and many of them are at least half a decent gaming choices, thanks to their dedicated “game modes”. But despite this crowded market, and after using them for a while I think that Earfun Air Pro 4 headphones stand out from the crowd enough to be worth considering.

This is primarily because they offer a very well -rounded set of functions and a attractive sound profile for 60-90 USD. And I bet this price point is exactly where many people look, considering recent headphones.

So to brass tips. The first thing to pay attention to is that Air Pro 4 is only Bluetooth, not offering a 2.4 GHz wireless connection. This is not a disadvantage of delays, because the low -delay game mode Air Pro 4 works great.

However, this is a minus for those who want to do the game while using a voice chat in the game or talking to Discord friends, because Bluetooth simply cannot properly operate voice sound and stereo. Spotify’s music sounded terrible after I started recording my voice using a coastal headphone microphone, but she returned to normal when I stopped.

It is also a minus for those of you who never want no profitable sound (I provide you with a technical term). I found these ear inserts almost Never Fiddly, but it was several times in which I had to disconnect and re -connect with Bluetooth on my laptop, probably because of some shenanigans with a double connection of devices that I always turn on. I doubt if you would get this problem with a 2.4 GHz dedicated key – I have never had a problem with pricey 2.4 GHz steels.

Drivers: 10 mm Dynamics
Frequency response: 22 kHz
Connection: Bluetooth 5.4
Battery life: 52 hours (11 from headphones, 41 in case)
Additions: Charging housing, USB-C connector, 5x different sizes of tips
Price: USD 90 /80 GBP

Despite this, it happened to me only once on the blue moon, and the amendment is uncomplicated. But it gives me a good segregation in the functionality of double mode, which is one of many well -implemented functions that these headphones offer.

The double connection of the devices allows you to connect to two devices at the same time and will recreate the sound from any device from which you play something (of course, it will not do both sources at the same time). I found it very useful because it means that I can play on my portable and continue to connect it to my phone to receive calls or easily switch when I want to listen to music or audiobook when I’m on the move.

While the double connection of the devices can be set using the button inside the housing, when the headphones are sato Saturday, it is much easier to do in the application, like most things. This is because the application is fantastic – I prefer it very much from others that I used, both because of its expansion and simplicity, which is a tough balance.

At the top of the application, you welcome a very crystal clear battery indicator for both headphones and charging housing. Below you can play with the sound of the surroundings (transparency), lively noise cancellation (ANC), game mode, insert detection, equation, double connection of the device, touch control elements, left or right monitor, audio le and voice prompts. You can also install great system software updates from the application.

These are a lot of functions, and all of them work surprisingly well (although I am not sure if the LE Audio-Addatek with low power-do not work with iOS and I am, I am unhappy to say, one of them these People).

I was particularly impressed by EQ, especially after I was a bit disappointed with EQ options on competitive ear inserts (A). Earfun not only gives you a lot of preliminary settings for trying (including profiles of various musical genres), but also has a 10-point parametric curve that you can play with.

The sound profile is a bit uninteresting and slightly slurry by default, for my ears. But with a little DIY, these ear inserts may sound fantastic. It ended up taking the EQ numbers of another user and then adapted the things a bit.

For those interested, I decided on the following EQ numbers: 9, 7, 3, 4, 3, 1, 2, 3, 10, 10. The change made a huge difference, and the headphones went order to a really attractive.

It must be admitted that this is not as spectacular as what you will find in some IEM audiophiles, and even in SteelSeries Arctis Gamebuds, but in this price range is great. After my correction, I would describe the sound profile as crunchy and alive, with lots of separation and a decent amount of impact, but still not as full and present as some higher class options.

It certainly is not uninteresting Audio experience, and I really like to listen to both music and games through 10 mm Air Pro 4 drivers. Yes, I remember that it is not quite There, whenever I put on Bubki Arctis, but it is damn close for much less money.

I also did not notice any drop in quality when switching to the game mode, although I notice the delay. In the case of the game mode off, there are quite a lot of noticeable delays, but when it is enabled, I don’t notice any delay at all-Gunshot’s sounds seem to call my ears when I press the hand lifting and make the sparks fly on the screen.

These buds are also great in ANC modes and transparency (or “ambient sound” mode, as Earfun calls it). Anc adaptally cancels to 50DB and I discovered that although he tries to block vigorous sounds (like most headphones), he does a really good job, holding fans, wind and other such rumbles and complain.

I found it very useful when traveling by public transport and I usually keep it on his “strong” environment, because it turned out that it worked best. I also found the surroundings of the sound in the environment that act in charm, preventing me from rejecting cars and so on.

One of the very medium areas is the on -board microphone. It’s not bad, it’s just not great – you can definitely say that it is a headphone microphone, not a headphone set, because it makes your voice sound a bit blurred and mascara. However, in the case of a loan due, at least it gets rid of stagnant background sounds, such as rumbles or wind relatively well.

Huting controls are fine, but as with other touch headphones, you must be careful not to press anything by accident. I didn’t have much problem with this than with any other headphones with touch controls, but this is something that should be seen.

You also have a lot of control over what different left/right presses do. For each ear you can set different functions to a long press or one, double or triple. You can choose between the following functions:

  • Most of the volume
  • Volume reduced
  • Previous song
  • Next song
  • Stop/Play
  • Voice assistant
  • Cancellation of the noise/Sound of the environment/Normal switch
  • Off

I left things as their default values only because I’m lazy-that’s not the reason-but at some point I can switch the pause/play a single flap and the previous/next song to double, taking into account that I rarely change the volume with touch control elements.

Buy if …

You want a edged sound: Although they may not be capable of full sound when you have fun with EQ and push high tones, games and sound music crystal.

You want uncomplicated to utilize: From the intuitive application to the LED battery life and charging wireless boxes, these headphones are extremely uncomplicated and uncomplicated to utilize.

Don’t buy if …

❌ You want to utilize a microphone when listening: These ear inserts only connect above Bluetooth, which means drastically a decrease in sound quality, if you try to utilize a built -in microphone at the same time as listening to something.

❌ You want the absolute best sound quality: Air Pro 4 sounds great on ear inserts below 100 USD, but you can get a completely different level of sound quality if you want to spend much more.

The icing on the cake is the battery life. They are evaluated up to 11 hours of life in the headphones themselves, as well as another 41 hours from the load, for 52 hours. AND The housing has both (relatively free) wireless charging compatibility and quick charging if you connect it via USB-C.

One of the things I liked the most in these ear inserts is how uncomplicated the battery life is managed. This is not only because there is a lot of juice in them, but also because it is so uncomplicated to see how much left. Three compact LEDs on the front of the housing say a story about the life of the battery at the front of the housing every time you open and close it, and the application shows how much is all speedy, clearly and uncomplicated. With all this plus The ability to charge in-inch inserts wirelessly or via USB-C is fantastic for this price.

And this is the main offer: you just get a lot for the price. MSRP costs 90 USD, but at the time of writing, Air Pro 4 ear inserts were on sale for much less than relatively consistently. Even at a full price I would say that they are more than worth considering and definitely when they are on sale.

They may not offer the most absolutely sophisticated, well -rounded sound of audiophilic ear inserts, but they may sound very lively and crunchy after DIY EQ, and also collect the burden of buckets of functions and provide them extremely well. Connectivity 2.4 GHz and a better microphone would be pleasant, just like some physical, not touch controls, but we cannot expect perfection at this price. But as for what we Power Expect in this price range, Earfun Air Pro 4 headphones provide all this and more.
