How to play
Connections is one of the most popular (and demanding) daily puzzle games published by The New York Times. The purpose of the connections is to group 16 words of the day for four groups, in which each group of four words has a common topic.
For example, the words “Hook”, “Nana”, “Peter” and “Wendy” are the characters of Peter Pan. Or to take another example, “Action”, “Ballpark”, “Go” and “Stick” are all words that often appear just before the word “drawing”.
Your task is to find out what these topics combine different words together – but be careful, because for a lot of time there are dishonest combinations with red herring placed only to lose you! To win the game, you need to find all four connections without making 4 mistakes. During the fourth error, the game ended and the answer is revealed automatically.
Each of the four groups in the puzzle every day is also attributed to a different color, which represents how uncomplicated or arduous to find a connection. These colors are: yellow (easiest), green (uncomplicated), blue (medium) and purple (the most arduous).

As you probably know, in Nyt Connections puzzles, the category colors indicate the level of difficulty, and yellow is the easiest and purple. To say, our personal experience is often slightly different than the level of difficulty, because some categories may be closer to your personal interests or contain more known words – yellow can be sometimes more arduous than green. Still, it does not happen that three categories of connections feel like The same The level of difficulty, but that’s what happened to me today.
First, I caught the green category, and then blue, and then yellow, but this order was based mainly at the confluence of the circumstances, because it did not require much detective work. Both the yellow and green group contain items belonging to a wider category, while the blue group is only synonyms – I could not say which one should be the most arduous if I did not know yet. I think that the blue category motif is particularly unusual, because synonyms are usually reserved for yellow and green.
Perhaps, to compensate, the purple category was quite arduous today – at least for me, because I do not know many songs from 1982. Of course, the year does not really matter, but I do not know many songs from the 1980s. Fortunately, when you have three categories, you do not need to collect the brain over the fourth, so everything has succeeded.
