The 28th DICE awards arrived and celebrated the best of the world’s best video games since 2024. While there were many winners in 23 categories, Astro Bot won the night, taking the game of the year home along with an outstanding achievement in animation, outstanding technical achievements, family game of the year and outstanding achievements in game design.
There were several other games that won many categories, and Helldivers 2 took second place with four wins for outstanding achievements in the original musical composition, outstanding achievements in audio design, Game of the Year and Game of the Year. Balaatro and Indiana Jones and The Great Circle also brought three wins home.
In addition to honoring the best games from 2024, this year’s Dice Celila Awards also two people who had a great impact on the video game industry. First of all, the former Vice President of Operational Affairs at Nintendo of America received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his time in the company and support for Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Then the founder and president of Insomniac Games Ted Price, who recently announced a pension from the studio, received the Hall of Fame award for everything he did for the development of the game and “leading sleepless games for three decades and telling for the first creators of video games” right of amendment “.
