The Russian modding group published their “GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition” in the face of the destruction of YouTube from the mother company Rockstar.
Eye -catching mod, from a group called Revolution, transfers the world, cutscenes and missions from Vice City from 2002 to GTA 4 from 2008.
In the video description, Modders said that Take-Two “removed” their YouTube channel “without warning or attempting to contact us”.
“A huge effort and time were invested in the channel, including hundreds of hours of streams devoted to the development of the module,” the statement continued.
“In addition, we lost a relationship with our international audience, which was a significant part of our community. The trailer of GTA Vice City Edition Nexten has gained over 100,000 views and 1,500 comments in less than one day. Unfortunately, the channel was removed without the possibility of recovery.
“It was a cruel movement from them, but we have already accepted the situation because we cannot influence it. We refrained from commenting because we were not sure what further actions could occur. So we decided not to take any risk that could disturb the edition.
“The last two days were emotionally difficult for our team, because we imagined the release completely differently-with a cozy stream devoted to the long-awaited launch of the module. But none of this matters.
“The most critical thing is that we published the project on the promised day. It is not clear how long it will remain publicly available or whether there will be requirements to remove it. We are not against the re -message, but we cannot openly encourage you to do so. Do what you think is appropriate. “
Modders said that they originally planned that the GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition required a legal copy of GTA 4 to play “To show the publisher’s respect”, but issued it as an independent package ready for installation.
“In the airy of current uncertainties, we had to make this change to ensure stable mod results for the widest possible audience,” they said.
Of course, Take-Two will piss off the actions of Modders, given that it was already acting on removing movies from the module. But the group remains the challenge, saying: “This modification is absolutely free without any commercial benefits. The project was created by fans for fans. The Revolution team expresses gratitude to the programmers (not publishers) of the original game.
“It is a great pity that it interactive on an ongoing basis blocking fashion initiatives that are aimed at maintaining the interest of their iconic games. Perhaps our project will be a precedent for the entire fashion community. “
Take-DWO has a reputation of Rockstar related to Rockstar and, as a result, has tense relationships with the modding community. The company is known for the request of Modders to remove various mods, such as this mod mode of GTA 5, and this VR mod for Red Dead Redemption 2. The recent Liberty City protection project was also not without direct precedent, as Rockstar has released the removal of a fashion that he tried Recreate the Grand Theft Auto Vice City in GTA 5.
One compelling development is that at least using two is reasonable when it comes to tearing off mods, sometimes it is employs these very modders Work in Rockstar games. Some mods, such as the Vice City Mod, were removed only so that Rockstar herself announced remasters of the same games.
But one of the former Rockstar developer defended the company’s activities here, saying that both Take-Dójka and Rockstar protect their business interests.
“Take2/R* is a commercial company”, former technical director of Rockstar Games Obbe Vermeij Tweet. “They take off fashions that disturb their business interests.
“Mod VC Nextgen Edition for GTA4 directly competes with the final edition. The Liberty City protection project (GTA4 in the GTA5 engine) would disturb the possible remaster GTA4. (I have no idea if they are working on it. I think they should.)
“There is no point in getting angry. This is what companies should do. The best we can count on is that they allow fashion that do not interfere with their activities. Such as DCA3 (GTA3 for DreamCast). Afaik have recently been decent, allowing them to continue these projects. “
The question is: Is the request of two actions over the module itself?
