Vermintide 2 continues to add free maps to it, and the newest ones are Elven Temple and Warpstone Nuclear Factory

While the gigantic news of Vermintide 2 last year was the addition of PVP on mode versus mode, the PVE side is still catered to. Its latest addition is Verminous Dreams, a campaign of related maps that pits the Ubersreik Five against their senior Skaven enemies once again.

The first two of three maps are now available. The abandoned temple sends you to Athel Lithri, a mythical elven holy site that has been overrun by filthy ratmen, and which contains shattered scales that you must reassign while the horde pours in. This is a more open map than you can exploit with a whole desiccated lake to cross.

Part two, the cunning Delvings, continues from there with a laboratory where the Skaven are working on the biggest boom the world of Warhammer has ever seen, or at least so its creator. Of course, it’s your job to break it down, although you’ll have to catch it first. And there is a rather gigantic Ogre rat named Gawtooth pet on the road.

The latest update also added a pack of custom settings for Versus Mode, allowing hosts to toggle options like genial fire and hero bots, as well as tweaking the distance at which packnorn spawn, the spawn rate, how much health shakedown heroes have, and so on. So PVP heads are not left out.

There’s one more map in the dizzying dreams campaign, but until it arrives, there are plenty of challenges and rewards for the modern maps, which means reason to replay them if you collect portrait frames and cosmetics.
