The manufacturer claims that in the case of Final Fantasy 7 Remake part 3, an update to PS6 may not be necessary

This may seem like conventional wisdom, but sometimes with a series like Square Enix’s Final Fantasy you have to state the obvious. The Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, starting exclusively on PS4, has been in development for over a decade now, and while it’s surprisingly progressing as planned, the time between releases is still quite significant.

Last year, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released and then received a revolutionary update on PS5 Pro, and yesterday an even more graphically impressive version appeared on PC. In an interview with 4Player (Thanks, VGC), producer Yoshinori Kitase was asked by the outlet about concerns that current-gen players may need to update:

“For those who have played FF7 Remake on PS4 and FF7 Rebirth on PS5, I think there may be some concern that the third work will be intended for a next-gen console,” Kitase replied with a laugh, seemingly putting an end to the deal: “No, you can rest assured for the next one.”
