5 tips for getting started with Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist

Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is a challenging Metroidvania with plenty of action-packed combat, fascinating secrets to discover, and worthwhile upgrades worth investing in. It’s a long and convoluted adventure, and even the early part of the game will require a lot of challenges for you to keep up with. As such, here are some tips regarding opening hours Ender Magnolia.

Break the glowing boxes into materials

Gear, Ender Magnoliabase currency, will allow you to purchase items in Craftery, which is available quite early in your adventure. Eventually, a tooltip will tell you that you can break down tiles on the map to get additional materials, but by the time you get this information, you may have already missed a few of them.

So, hey, I thought I’d let you know watch out for the boxes glowing around them because I’m a nice guy who wants you to be able to afford to buy your first Crafted Magic Vial to gain an extra Relic slot. You’re welcome. No, really, don’t worry.

Make good utilize of Yolvan

In the first hour or so of the game, you’ll fight Yolvan and acquire him as a homunculus that you can equip. Because it shoots bullets, Assign Yolvan to the attack location using the shoulder button so you can stop his attack while you also utilize melee attacks. This can significantly escalate the speed at which you deplete the Break Gauge of basic enemies, allowing you to force them into submission.

When Craftery starts selling mixed parts (pretty early), be sure to buy and utilize them buy Yolvan’s Eviscerating ability to make him an even bigger force to be reckoned with. Holding the button for this skill will trigger a tornado attack that stuns several enemies at once, dealing surprisingly high damage. Since he can hit multiple enemies at once, it’s quite a nice upgrade over his basic attack in most scenarios.

Always keep Muninn away

You will obtain Muninn while exploring the Magicite Mine. This homunculus can be equipped and summoned to passively accompany you. Unlike most homunculi, this means you don’t have to press any buttons for Muninn to attack. Instead, he will fly around behind you and sometimes attack enemies automatically.

While this homunculus doesn’t deal significant damage, it does assist reduce your enemies’ break rate without having to microcontrol any cooldowns or remember to press any buttons.

And of course, if you want Muninn to peaceful down, just press the assigned button again to pack him. But why don’t you want assist? Are you too good for a warm owl? Don’t be like that.

Don’t miss the Helix Crystal relic

You’ll start the game with a few renewable healing wards, so some passive healing would definitely come in handy, right? Fortunately, you can get a Helix Crystal early in the game, which heals you for 3% of your total health every time you defeat an enemy. It may not seem like much, but there are a lot of enemies on your way that are quite simple to defeat, so it certainly adds up.

When you’re ready to get it, play until you get the bottom layer key after a few hours, then swift travel back to the abandoned Attunener’s Tent. Head left from the Abandoned Attuners’ Tent and open the door to access the Magicite Mine. Inside, head down the slope and keep going left until you encounter a rather vast enemy. Defeat him and get the Helix Crystal.

Lower the difficulty level if you are having difficulty getting gud

One sec Ender Magnolia is designed to challenge you, there’s nothing wrong with you deciding you want to reduce the degree to which it does so. Happily, you can adjust the difficulty level while you rest in respite.
