It was an electrifying day in the TSA towers, what with the Switch 2 announcement and all, but not everyone is a fan of plumbers driving go-karts or consoles where you can remove the sides. If you prefer multiplayer shooters, the news that Exoborne, the latest game from Sharkmob, the team behind Bloodhunt, will go into testing next month might get your pulse racing even more.

Exoborne certainly looks like this, as players are surrounded by mechanical Exo-Rigs. These versatile tools are designed for survival and combat and can be customized depending on the mission at hand. We got to check out the game during last year’s Gamescom, and it seems that storms play a huge role, providing both visual impact and killer gameplay scenarios.

There’s plenty of shooting and action, with a few nods to previous Exosuit-equipped games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and even a bit of Bioware’s Anthem. It looks powerful, cluttered and a lot of fun. Of course, they’re entering a crowded genre, so testing is a great way to get player feedback and build interest ahead of launch later in the year.

Brynley Gibson, executive producer, says: “We have been running closed tests both online and in our studio for a long time, but this is our first large-scale test and it’s an incredibly exciting milestone for us. As we enter this stage of open collaboration with the community, we want to gather invaluable insights and feedback that will lead us to take the game to new levels.”

The Exoborne test will run from February 12 to 17, and while the game will launch on console alongside its PC counterparts, the test will be circumscribed to PC only. You can register right hereand don’t forget to watch the novel trailer too.
