The modern update does not change anything fundamentally The Sims 3. It doesn’t actually change The Sims 3 at all. Instead, the update fixes a bug that prevented players using computers with 12th Gen Intel processors from using the game. Players with these processors would see the game crash upon launch. In 2022, outstanding The Sims 3 modder, Lazy Duchess, fixed the problem with its own modified patch. Electronic Arts Tuesday Update is the official fix for those using the EA App Launcher. Steam players appear to have not received the update.
Naturally, The Sims 3 the community has some doubts about the patch; they’ve spent over a decade accumulating modified and scripted content, and they’re worried that an official, forced patch will break everything. One of the community members has prepared a detailed guide to the updateincluding how NO to update your game if you want to prevent this. The mods appear to be protected, said Reddit user CowardlyCandy.
