Apparently the Oblivion remake is real

Report published by MP1 pcs claims to have checked that Oblivion the remake is real and goes much further than a typical remaster. This information allegedly comes from the website of a former Virtuos employee, and the studio is said to be working on the game.

So what is (supposedly) changing? Apparently plenty. Like everything else in the world, Oblivion the remake is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, and significant changes will take place in several areas of the gameplay. The real large news is the changes to locking. According to the report, blocking during combat has been overhauled, inspired by the Soulslike games featured in the original Oblivion system as “boring” and “frustrating”. If this is true, it will raise your skill ceiling Oblivion en masse, which would be a nice surprise, especially in a state-of-the-art remake where systems are often weakened and dumbed down.

Players hoping for exposure Oblivion at the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct, they’ll likely be disappointed. The report claims that it is not expected to arrive there, although it points out that other outlets have claimed that the remake could be released in June. If this is true, a reveal likely isn’t far off, with some theorizing that Microsoft will wait until the February launch Notoriousgiven the aesthetic similarities between them.
