Dear friends, one of the best video game adaptations will have a fresh season on Netflix. His Castlevania Nocturne! Courtesy of a fresh trailer, we have one last sneak peek at what’s next in the Belmont and vampire saga before the fresh season begins on January 16.
The fresh trailer, which you can watch below, reunites us with the gang of least depressed twenty-somethings from France (and their grandfather), and appears to be a direct sequel to the climactic events of the first season. It looks like the crew is going to Paris, where the vampires are going to behead revolutionaries and drink wine. Just like you!
As of this writing, the trailer has almost 400,000 views on YouTube alone, which isn’t shabby at all. It also includes a dramatic version of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, which is a particularly nice touch. All in all, this promises to be an exhilarating conclusion to the Nocturne series, which we’ll be watching glued to the couch later this month.
Castlevania Nocturne brilliantly picked up the torch that the original Castlevania series had passed – also on Netflix. It’s tough to go from a cast of likable characters and jump back in time to a different cast. But regardless of my opinion on animated video game adaptations, the writers of Nocturne have done a great job of keeping the spirit of Nocturne alive. Not to mention, that same superb animation (especially in the action scenes) made it a must-watch for fans of the original series.
