If you’re like me, you may have wondered at some point how much money a PC gamer with a PC Game Pass subscription actually saves. It turns out that this is quite a significant number, as the total value of games added to the service in 2024 will be just under $5,000.
One deduced this Jamie Hore at PCGamesNwhich dropped all 137 games added to the service in 2024, took into account their dollar value at the time they were added and found the total to be $4,812.63. To be clear, the price for a full year of PC Game Pass is around $143. That’s a lot of cash saved.

Now, of course, there are caveats. This number assumes that you, a hypothetical PC Game Pass user, will download every game added to the service as soon as it becomes available. It goes without saying that you only really save money on the games you play. It doesn’t really matter to me if I can play Starfield and save $30, you’d have to pay me a lot more.
However, this is a monument to Game Pass’s savings potential, backed by data. Interesting data – in an article on PCGamesN we can see how much money you can potentially save in a month. April looks to be a gigantic winner, with 17 games added to PC Game Pass (five of which were released on day one). December, on the other hand, was a pretty bad month as only six games were added to the service, two of which were released on the first day. Still, even in lean months like December, the potential savings is $214.94. Not tacky at all!
Does this make you feel any different about PC Game Pass? Do you feel better after subscribing or did you wish you had done so last year? Or maybe you’re a pirate who doesn’t care about anything except the salty wind in your hair and a dream in your heart? Let us know below.
